My husband and I stayed for three nights in June. We had an enjoyable time at the Bhuthorn as the staff were very caring and helpful BUT taxis, tuk-tuks even locals didn't know where the place was!!! Very time we ventured out, we were relieved when we finally made our way back to our room, as taxis and tuk tuks...

If you want to experience Bangkok like a local, the Bhuthorn is the way to go. Just three rooms, decorated with great taste and authenticity, the inn feels like Old Asia. The staff is charming and most accommodating, the breakfasts are incredible, the location is ideal. Yes, it's hard to find but using a nearby landmark as a clue for...

The Bhuthorn is a beautiful little hotel, tucked away in a square about 10 minutes' walk from the Grand Palace and Wat Po. It won't suit everyone - the hotel only has three rooms and is in a quiet residential location - but the house has been lovingly and elegantly adapted by the owners and it really feels like you're...

We stayed here for 3 nights. It's a beautiful old building that has been renovated to a fab standard. We loved the feel of the place. The staff were amazing... Always there to help. The breakfast was awesome in the little courtyard garden... The only minor problem we had was the taxi's and tuk tuk's were never able to find...

Located in the Indian area, lively, with good restaurants around. The Bhuthorn is a charming, very quiet place, with wonderful people running it. We enjoyed the very good beakfast in the tiny courtyard, surrounded with old furtniture, sound of falling water... a dream if you are trying to avoid big international hotels in Bangkok. Service is truly excellent. Overall a...

I highly recommend this hotel. We stayed for three nights and absolutely loved it. The lounge/breakfast area and room were both elegantly furnished and very comfortable. The Thai breakfasts were delicious - definitely go for these over the Western breakfast which was only ok - and the daily afternoon teas were great too, each day something different and delicious. The...

I stayed in this b&b years ago but I never got around writing a review. My sister and I were in Bangkok for a few days during the red shirt protests in 2010 right before things got heated up. Some of their protests camps were really close to the b&b but at no time did we feel insecure. Chitlada was...

This nice little hotel is near all important sights in Bangkok's old town, just a little walk away from the expressboat pier. We felt very comfortable and enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was very good. Everyone was extraordinary helpful and friendly. It's a bit noisy, especially in the morning, but in a big city like Bangkok it's hard to find absolute...

We came here with our parents & truly enjoyed our stay. The owner, Yui really made us feel like home. This place reminds me of my great grandma's place back in Malacca! If you really want to enjoy the way olden days Thai lived, here is it! Yui & staffs cleaned our rooms several times a day. They tried to...

An absolutely gorgeous little B&B in the original old town. So quiet for being right in the center. Just a short walk from the Grand Palace, river taxi, and local market. The service was fantastic. We got lost our first day and the staff kindly walked us out to the street to help us find our way! We highly recommend...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
