It might be a bit hard to find first going through the small alleys..but the stay there is nice...good for budget and perfect for backpackers.... Jane is a bit of a firecracker..so be careful skypeing with ur long distance girlfriend... Jane might come and make things funnier but in her own little humor :)

Beautiful view of the river. This is a guesthouse, so if you are on a tight budget it is good. Basic facilities, no toilet paper and shower and toilet in together. Very knowledgeable owner Jane, who likes to get everyone talking. I met some wonderful people here which made my time there really good. I had my own room, a...

I went travelling for the first time this summer and Jane's place was the first place I stayed when I flew into Bangkok. It was a bit tricky to find but it was cheap, comfy and just round the corner from Khao San Road and all that hustle and bustle. Jane's really friendly and it was a lovely oasis of...

Wonderful location. Clean room and friendly staff. Proper travellers experience! Don't be put off by the area surrounding this little gem. Its very quiet and hippyish with the best view of the river especially around 7-8pm

Jane is what makes this place, she's an AMAZING owner that is very sweet and fun the talk to. The location is definitely a bit hard to find, just keep going..... That's my advice. :) overall, it's an ammmmmazing location, close enough to the main backpacker area but far enough away that it's quiet and peaceful. Great crew that hangs...

I booked this room through booking.com. This is my 5th trip to Bangkok, I am therefore well aware of the characteristics of a value room in the Khaosan area. This is not it. The room I viewed was filthy, with a broken roof window, to ensure that the mossies had a good supper. The bed was ancient and sagging. The...

Decided to stay at Phiman guest house mainly because of ok'ish price for a double room and location (walkable =up to an hours walk to city and sights) Hostel itself is really difficult to find and if you arrive at night you may struggle to locate it. We were lucky enough for our taxi driver to call them for directions,...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
