Check Inn China Town is a budget hotel located down a quiet alley in Chinatown. The room was very clean and included a little kitchenette. Water pressure in the shower was good. If you are into Bangkok street food, this neighborhood is an excellent choice! So many affordable and delicious options nearby.

A little overpriced but great location in China Town. Good accommodating staff, eager to help. Went for the self-contained room with the kitchenette, which had a microwave, 2-burner stove, fridge, utensils, etc. Free tea/coffee/water daily and cleaned daily. About a 5-minute walk to restaurants and street hawkers' delicious Thai food. A 15-minute walk to Rachawongse ferry terminal. The ferry from...

My experience was great. Except for first impression of the receptionist. We arrived in late night by local taxi (not great experience since the taxi driver tried to scam us). In fact we had only one note of THB 1,000 (we had not exchanged the money yet) and needed to pay THB 230 to the taxi. So we asked the...

Then this place is highly recommended. They have spacious rooms with a kitchenette. Staff was friendly and helpful all the time, they even let us store our luggage for 5 days! It is also near Hua Lamphong train station which was really ideal for us since we were going to Koh Phi Phi after staying here for 2 nights. It...

We stayed for a couple of nights and arrived very early in the morning via a night train. The Taxi driver had a little bit of trouble to find the Hotel but finally we arrived. It was no problem to check in straight in the morning hours which is definitely a big plus for the good service. The room was...

quite simply, we loved it. We had the luck to be in China Town for the New Year celebrations at the end of January. All the good things blogged about this place are true so I won't spend time repeating. Transport wise, use the ferry! The public tickets are 15B and you can alight at any of the piers on...

This is a pretty decent place to stay if you want to spend most of your time in Chinatown, it's relatively close to the main street and most of the shopping in Chinatown. However it is quite a distance away from the other places to see and shop, and the location of the hotel is tucked away down a pretty...

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown / Yaowarat
Better known as 'Yaowarat' among locals, Chinatown is Bangkok's bustling district that never sleeps. During the day, the main street and its small alleyways are filled with a vibrant mix of colours, scents and flavours coming from the roadside restaurants and all-day markets. The real action, however, happens after sunset. Surrounded by neon lights, Thais and tourists alike flock here around dinnertime to feast on some of the best street food in town. Escape the chaos by venturing a little further from the main road and discover hidden shrines, friendly locals and daily life in its purest form.
