If you want to base yourself in Chinatown this is a good option. The rooms are extremely clean, have a kitchenette, beds were comfy and was reasonably priced at THB1000/night. It is a little difficult to find so you will need to have directions in Thai for your taxi driver.

This hotel is great for people on a budget who want to cook themselves. It has a fully equipped kitchenette. It's modern and clean. But terrible for smokers. I worst thing about this place is the name it confuses taxi and tuk tuk drivers they all assume you want to "check inn" and the or a china town hotel and...

The rooms here are great, we stayed in a double room which was en suite and had a fridge and kitchen area to prepare and cook food if you don't fancy going out. Small but clean bathroom and lots of drawer and wardrobe space. Situated in the heart of busy china town but down a Side street so noise isn't...

I have been staying at Check Inn most times I travel to Bangkok.. My last stay recently was a bit disapointing..The air conditioners are noisy and will wake you up at night banging and clanging.. And if they dont wake you the other guests will by banging their doors shut.... There is a big issue with ants so you cannot...

We stayed in deluxe twin room (507) from 18 to 25 May 2013. Our room had a window and balcony. We were pleasantly surprised by the functional layout of the room. It overcame its compactness. The room, beds and bathroom were clean, air-conditioner was cold and free WIFI signal was strong. The room also came with Safe box and a...

Perhaps we are familiar with bangkok chinatown, locating this hotel is not a problem. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room is reasonably clean with balcony, kitchenette, etc. For taxi or tuk tuk, tell the driver Yaowarat (Chinatown), then Charoen Krung Road Soi 14!

This place looked great in the pictures. When our cab driver finally found this place, it smelled terrible around the hotel and there were half naked men playing soccer outside staring at me and my wife. We actually questioned if there were two locations because this one looked nothing like the pictures. The area was shady and very dirty. We...

Stayed 3 nights. Location is good if you're interested in Bangkok's Chinese culture but very hidden on a one way street. Almost no taxi driver (even those of Chinese origin) knew where it was. I would advise a map and the hotel's tel. nr. for the reception to instruct them to explain directly to the driver how to get there....

Staying in Chinatown / Yaowarat

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown / Yaowarat
Better known as 'Yaowarat' among locals, Chinatown is Bangkok's bustling district that never sleeps. During the day, the main street and its small alleyways are filled with a vibrant mix of colours, scents and flavours coming from the roadside restaurants and all-day markets. The real action, however, happens after sunset. Surrounded by neon lights, Thais and tourists alike flock here around dinnertime to feast on some of the best street food in town. Escape the chaos by venturing a little further from the main road and discover hidden shrines, friendly locals and daily life in its purest form.
