This hostel is a fantastic place to stay. Just off Khao San road it offers easy access to lots of tourist attractions without the craziness of Khao San road itself. Great staff, clean rooms, and an awesome social area where it is hard to not...More
This place is amazing! Very easy to make friends, 2 roads from Khao San (so you are close but don't have all the noise), brilliant staff, and very clean and modern amenities! It might not be the cheapest hostel in Bangkok but it is worth...More
This is such a great and social hostel. It's impossible to stay here and not make any new friends. There's a huge common area and a lobby where you can drink and mingle. It's a short walk to Soi Rambuttri and Khao San Road. I...More
This hotel is very aptly situated. Near enough to Khao San ( two roads away) yet far enough to avoid all the sound and noise. Service at the counter was excellent. Cleanliness was even better. Very impressed with the toilet and room cleanliness. Very helpful...More

While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around
Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.

I took a grabcar there. Was about 400 bhat compared to the 800bhat that the airport taxis were charging. Just don't make it so obvious that you're using grab/uber as it is not legal there and the police will fine the driver 1000bhat if they are caught. This info was told to me by my grab driver when I travelled there in July 2017.
