We arrived at Khaosan Baan Thai on 29th November. They were extremely welcoming (the lady speaks very good English and all the rest try their best), prompt to show us to our room & very helpful with all our needs. Khaosan Baan Thai is away from Khaosan Road, but within walking distance (10-15mins), which is what we wanted. The hostel... More

I stayed with my boyfriend in twin bed room whit shared toilet/bath. Room was big and nice, two fan. Mattress is hard but it's not bad. Hostel is quiet, clean, staff is very friendly and helpful, everyone doesn't speak english so well. Near Khao Saan Road which is nice place to see. Different in day and night time. Wifi is... More

Friendly staff, very clean, little bit hard beds, but that's a Thai thing. 10 minutes walking from Khaosan road, near river where you can catch a boat, 5 minutes walk from standing Buda temple, 25 minutes from Wat Pho.

I really liked my stay here. My first time in BK so i was a novice. Sung Sung has a gift for welcoming and providing help with getting settled and getting around. the place is friendly, relaxed and easy going... sabai sabai! i dont like rigid bureaucracy and formality, and this place is not like that at all. it suited... Stayed at the twin bedroom with shared toilet/bath. The bedroom is big, with average bed and other normal writing desk/chair. The air-condition is fixed at 25C though and can be tough if the bed get warm at night. The rooms are separated by wooden walls so it can be a bit noisy at night but there are notices to guest... This place is a score! We were given room 205 and i could not ask for more. Our room is simple, clean and cozy plus we got a nice view (we can see Rama VIII bridge from our little veranda). I have no complain with the shared bathrooms too when it comes to cleanliness. The staff in the morning morning... More

The rooms are nice and cheap. Shared bathroom and shower but they are good, maybe the best and cleanest ones i have seen! Free breakfast also. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to khao san road, so its very near but you still got your own peace! Nothing bad to say about this place!

Love this place! The rates may be low, but there is nothing cheap about this place. The bed I had was nice and comfy and my room was spotless. Actually, the whole place, including the shared bathroom, is incredibly clean! Everybody here was also very (and genuinely) nice. So high marks for service, cleanliness, everything. Great idea to stay here... More

We touched down at Khaosan Baan Thai as our first stop on our trip to South East Asia. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We arrived way before check in and they allowed us to shower and have some coffee/tea. The room is simple with beds on the floor, so don't expect too much comfort wise. It was simple... More

We stayed here for 7 days last month. We tried to book again, but it was full, so try it ahead of time. It's a small place with a shared bathroom, which was generally clean. We had a room with a little porch with a view of the bridge. It was very quiet. Staff was really nice. Breakfast is exactly... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.

“There are stairs here regardless of what room you are in. If you find stairs difficult, you may want to ask if you can arrange for a first floor room so that you only have to tackle one flight of steps.”
