Each room is different and comes with a personality of its own. The location is great and above all the staff is wonderful.
Yes you will hear the noise coming from the river (the Chao Praya express boats and the longtail boats are noisy) but...More
Booked Loy La Long based on many favorable reviews. What an amazing place to either use as base for exploration or just to relax and watch the world float by. Sitting on the patio drinking a Beer Lao as I write this. Incredibly nice and...More

We stayed in this hotel for five nights while in Bangkok. While at times hard for cab drivers to find, this hotel was unique, quirky and peaceful. The Hotel staff were exceptional and did everything they could to make our stay perfect.

The place is very difficult to find, and so I always have them send a driver to get me at the airport, it's just easier. The water taxi dock is about a 15 minute walk down the same street, about 10 or 12 blocks. It's Dock 5 I believe. If you go to the Jim Thompson house, which is well worth it, just take a taxi. I only stay in Bangkok a couple of days each time, and each time I would rather be at Loy La Long than any other place. It's quaint, it's an experience, and it's well run.
