Khaosan Rd is a great tourist hub but if you want a good nights sleep this is not the place to stay. Décor and furniture is tired. The pool is not as big as it appears in the photos and gets rather crowded. Very noisy until at least 4am in the morning, even in the rooms towards the back of...

its not a bad place at all - I did get a cheaper room online in advance though, not sure I would have paid full price. its extremely loud, to warn you... comfortable and clean, though my room could have done with a lick of new paint! pool is very small so don;t expect to do any lengths!

When I say it's loud it's loud!! The stairs where a killer and the rooms are pretty basic, but there's a tv which is nice for a change. The water was cold and am not sure if they offer a room with hot water. But the location is great and it's cheap for that street, if you're going there for...

If you are with friends and up late, then theres no better hotel to be in. If you want an early night then best to look elsewhere, as its pretty noisy til 2-3am. Rooms are decent, inexpensive and theres a rooftop pool.

The hotel is based slap bang in the middle of khaosan road which is where you want to be. It's buzzing with a market, bars and street food. The hotel has a great rooftop pool. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were basic but comfortable with a small mini bar selection not overpriced. Beware it is very noisy...

The headline says it all. Stayed here luckily just one night. A perfect place if you want to be close to the party area and don't care about clean sheets and a good sleep. Walls as thin as paper won't let you sleep without valium or any narcotics. These rooms are just for hard core backpackers with own sleeping bag...

The pool area is nice on the roof. Much better hotels for better value on the street. The D&D Inn is across the road, the same price range and the facilities, staff and rooms are miles above this hotel. The staff are horrible, the rooms are grimey, dingy, red and all bar very expensive rooms face onto a wall. If...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
