We stayed here one night before going to Vietnam and it was the worst place I've ever seen. Our room was small and really, really filthy. There were oily hand prints on the wall near the bed and a whole bunch of other wierd stuff smeered on the walls. We dont have very high standards since we're travelling on a... More

Appeared fairly clean, no bugs or cockroaches, very good location and very quiet at night despite being close to lots of bars and restaurants. Also wifi is free and very fast. The rooms are very dated, dusty and smell of smoke. The room was an adequate size but the set up was strange; there was an old and dusty TV... More

Basic accommodation, in need of a good clean up and refurbishment. Ideal location for Kho San Road but far enough away to get a nights sleep. Also good location for Royal Palace and others places of interest. They requested a 500 baht (£10) key deposit at check in, which we didn't have as last night before flight home but agreed... More

Me and my Wife were walking in the rambuttri area, when a nice and cosy restaurant inside the hotel caught our eyes! The stuff was very kind to us! We did enjoy fresh pasta while my wife had some fish! The food was very delicious, and next time we will come to Bangkok it will be a must to go... More

I had a reservation from booking that said that the double room costs 15$ which means in current thb is 420, after being rude on trying to find my reservation and telling me I booked it 2 days ago ( which I did but for this night and I have a proof ) they asked for 600 thb, in a... More

We stumbled upon this hotel at 6.30am after a 12 hour train ride in hope of stay one night to get out heads down. This soon turned into 3 nights as its location is near the notorious Koh San Road. I returned one month later after traveling to Laos to stay another time as the room for a double bed... More

When we first arrived they didn't have our booking but managed to find us a room, it was pretty average but seeing as it was only one night we decided to stay. We had terrible service from the front desk that moment onwards - we asked if they had/knew of laundry service near by - NO. Do you have luggage... More

Well, let's start with the positive things - the location. It's located in a nice and not too loud side alley with many souvenir shops, restaurants and other vendors. Close to Khao San Road and public transport, everything is within walking distance. Unfortunatly everything else about the hotel was negative. The shower and bathroom were very dirty and mouldy and... More

We stayed up on the fifth floor where the windows let in light and there were very few mosquitos. We looked at the ground floor but preferred to be higher up. The 500 baht rooms were very comfortable with hot showers and aircon. The 400 baht rooms on the 6th floor were much smaller. All in all this was a... More

We have stayed at this budget hotel a few times now. Yes rooms very clean and reasonable and excellent location close to everything. Good food at the restaurant and cheapest place to buy Chang Beer! However the staff are not overly friendly and a bit slow some times taking orders. But guess we will be back there again next year.

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
