Perfect location, literally a few minutes walk into the lovely street of Rambuttri Alley. Super friendly and helpful staff. Rooms and bathroom perfectly functional at great value. It seems that all toilets in Thailand are a no toilet paper zone - it has to go in a bin which is a bit odd but you sort of get used to it. We had laundry done in a day. No food on site but not an issue as so many places to get breakfast and anything else a few minutes away. Defo recommend.
The hotel is in a wonderful location, and there are very attendant and helpful staff. The canal is quite smelly, which is something to be aware of as the hotel is right on the canal. Also the room is quite basic but very pleasant.
This is cheap and cheerful, clean and 5 mins walk to Khaosan rd, Rambuttri village, so you have peace and quiet. It’s a safe walking distant. I was a solo female Traveller and felt safe here and when I walked back home from the abI’ve two roads.
The hotel itself is quite good. The service was very friendly (always welcomed everytime we returned) and they accommodated our request to be on a higher floor. Our room was big and the bed comfortable but unfortunately the bathroom window was jammed open and couldn’t be closed. The location is great as it’s close to the Khao San Road and all of the nightlife but it’s secluded so it’s quiet. However the hotel is right by the river which is nice to see the fish (we also saw a massive monitor lizard) but it absolutely stinks every now and again. There are also some drains/sewers outside of the hotel which also smell, however these are all over Bangkok. We would have scored much higher had it not have been for the smell of the river and jammed bathroom window (meaning the smell came in to our room).…
I stayed 3 nights here. Firstly the good stuff, this place is reasonably priced and location is great for the tourist area 3mins walk away. This place, next to the canal, is very quiet with no external noise in the hotel at all. The room I had overlooking the canal was big, comfortable, with nice bathroom and everything very clean. However, the smell from the canal makes eating in the open restaurant or even sitting and having a beer almost impossible. As soon as you leave you're room the smell hits you. There is No Wi-Fi. They tell you there is, you can the see the router on each floor on you're phone with good connection but there was no bandwidth at all, my phone was never able to connect. Every time I went pass reception I asked about it, everytime I was ignored. Then on the last morning I complained again and was finally put on a totally different connection, which worked, a bit. Nowadays Wi-Fi is essential, and they don't provide it. Please don't believe them when they say they do. The staff here are some of the most unfriendly I've ever experienced in Thailand. The last morning I had a shuttled bus booked at 8am. At 7.40am i asked about breakfast and said I eat fast. The guy behind the bar told me the chief was slow and this was not possible. There's was no one else waiting for food, 1 couple had finished eating. I was offered nothing, not even a smile. Just ignored. And the bus was 20mins late..... The room I had, 204, was right next to some machinery in the room next door which fired up on s regular basis. I paid extra for a better room too. Earplugs essential. And the canal view is pointless unless you want to smoke. There are so many choices in Bangkok, why bother with them when they certainly can't be bothered about you. If you just want a quiet hard bed and nothing else, then maybe give it a try. I won't be back. …
Great location for tourist streets of Khaosan, and on the river with the huge fish and not overlooked. Close to the lomprayah bus stop. Rooms are good but the one I had was small for the money. Had a good American breakfast, staff are super friendly. If you get a good last minute price on agoda it's worth it.
This is a great little hotel for budget price in a great location. Yes canal smells a bit, it was 37-9 degrees most of time, but as it has more fish in it than Christ needed on the mount it must be reasonable clean. I got big room with balcony but given temp outside its only used to hang our your washing...or if you smoke. Unfortunately this place list points from me because of one particular member of staff. He was there every day, morning on desk but, from day one, he was rude, unsmiling as if you were an inconvenience. This worsened when the friend I was visiting in Thailand arrived to spend couple days with me. First breakfast she was there he was openly unhappy to serve her to the point she asked him in Thai if he had a problem. He just walked away and when she asked other staff they looked embarrassed. She explained this was probably because I was from West and she was Thai and some look down on this. Most of this happened in a language and culture unfamiliar to me but if this attitude happened at home in Scotland I suspect fights may ensue. I was pretty disgusted at this being accepted in hotel and can only assume the member of staff is family as he is in the wrong business.. I found all Thai people so helpful and friendly but this bloke was exception. Yes I'd recommend but beware morning male reception!!! B…
It is not the first time I stayed in the Korbua House and probably I will come back again. The rooms could definitely do with some renovation and I really hope the management will do something this year. Rooms are clean. The view on the river is great and I love the breakfast terrace. To see the market people cutting the fish every morning on the other side of the river, to see the big fishes in the water and the komodo climbing the wall. Breakfast is good and the guy who serves it (unfortunately I forgot his name) is super friendly. Very close to the pier which is great as well. Away from the noise. I gave this hotel 4 dots but more for the whole experience. The rooms should be rated between a 2 and 3.
Good hotel in very good position near khaosan road but away from the noise. Room are nice, breakfast good and staff very frindly and helpfully Recommend if you want live bangkok. Sure we will came back.
This hotel’s restaurant is horrible and such a blatant rip off I had to leave a review. I was fooled by the riverside location but it smelt like a sewer. Not their fault admittedly but it added to the experience. I ordered a mango smoothie. When I asked what was in it I was told just mango. All mango. No sugar. When it arrived it was literally an artificial mango juice slushie. When I said something to the waiter he said something like “I can’t squeeze the mangoes myself ... oh but don’t worry it has no sugar. All healthy... For a country where it practically rains mangoes I cannot understand this. The rest of the meal was terrible too. Tom yum with prawns, which was actually ok but was about three spoonfuls. And a cheese and tomato sandwich which tasted like stale bread and which they put onion on without asking (Im allergic to onion). I was then charged 350 baht for the experience, the smoothie being a whopping 100bt, more than I’d pay at home. I mentioned the fact I was lied to about the smoothie and the guy just shrugged and walked off. I left hungry and annoyed. Avoid this place. Poor food and dishonest. …
