Wow. What a lovely hotel. The staff were some of the most hospitable I have ever come across. Jane, Jay, Fai, Bhumi, Lalita and a host of others, went out of their way to ensure we were happy. Yes the hotel is quite dated (lifts are a bit old, but I'm generally not comfortable in them) and the rooms as well but the staff, amenities and general landscape made up for it. The Thipatra restaurant is a must. Breakfast gets busy as everyone wants to sit by the river but the spread is really good. Room service and lobby menu could do with some improvement in both options and taste. Vegetarian options limited. Food is more on traditional Chinese cuisine but the buffet is worth the extra $$. Spa is ok, lots of mosquitoes (because of the river /stagnating water), had two sessions one with a lady called Pupae who was a really good therapist, the other lady was not the best on the last day. But the staff are truly amazing, the location is perfect if you want to relax and take it easy. Definitely a place I would visit again.…
At The Peninsula Bangkok, this is my 1st time stay that so impressed for my staycation with my friend. I would said that it is top-notch service hospitality. Urban Oasis Hotel along the Chao Phraya River. When you stay at hotel you will feel a time stop. That was a precious moment when looking over the stunning view of Chao Phraya River and the city. My room is Deluxe Balcony Room that is elegant contemporary style with classic that. So Luxury thai style and comfort. The room is well equipped and well maintained. Functional control panel to control all the light, TV, curtain, Air Con etc. Sumptuous marble bathroom with exclusive bath amenities. The balcony is the perfect spot for scenic panorama along the city and Chao Phraya River. View from the hotel is the perfect spot to capture memorable moments. The best pool with view the river. The staff at pool that is best service-minded and helpful. The hotel provides complimentary shuttle boat services to Tak Sin Bridge BTS and Icon Siam. Breakfast near the river is the best moment to start your day with quality Food. …
We stayed here for four nights in January 2023 as part of our honeymoon. We had a wonderful time and were thoroughly impressed with the hotel. The location is great. It is right on the river and looks back across the city with beautiful views. There are hotel shuttle boats (which are really convenient and regular) and take you to the shopping centre, the train station and the hotel lounge across the river. The hotel amenities were great, including the gym, riverside pool, restaurants and complimentary activities. The room itself was beautiful and thoughtfully designed. The food was amazing, including the riverside buffet breakfast, a la carte dinner in the lobby and the special dinner we had at the Thai restaurant (Thiptara) on our last night. But the best part was the service. We found the service to be world-class across the entire hotel. A special mention to the dedicated concierge team (who went above and beyond to help us plan activities every day) and the poolside team (who kept us fed and hydrated and relaxed).…
Great hotel. Great food and excellent service. Rooms are big with great views but in need of a renovation as they are outdated. The rooms still have old phone systems which receive faxes. Quiet place on the river but think carefully before you booked based on what you plan to do in Bangkok. Is it very near the amazing Icon mall but across the River from the rest of Bangkok. Takes 45 min to get to city center Bangkok. So it’s 90 min roundtrip. If you plan to break at your hotel midday then best to stay at the Siam Kempinski or Rosewood. If you don’t need to rest midday then it’s a fantastic spot with nice pool and drinks.
Staying at the Peninsula was an extraordinary experience. From the moment we entered the lobby, the staff was at tentative to our every need. We wanted a balcony room and they readied one in minutes despite it not being reserved. The room was beautiful, large and well appointed. Our room overlooked the river where you could watch the action including the Peninsula boats which took you across the river. We used the boats to go everywhere and were shocked to find that the boat was waiting for us after our bike tour, despite not being a regular stop. The location on the river made everything easy and accessible. The facility was also beautiful including a world class spa with the same incredible service. The pool had floats, cabanas and anything else you might need including cold drinks, frozen mango and cold towels being brought to your lounge chair. The aqua yoga on SUPs was amazing and just added to the fun! I literally cannot think of a single thing that they could improve. What a gem!…
Where to start? How about walking into your 2-room suite and seeing your names embroidered on your pillow cases?! OMG - this hotel is everything you would imagine and more when you think about a luxury hotel in Bangkok. The service is impeccable - we were greeted and taken to our room for check-in, rather than having to wait with other people at the check-in desk. This kind of personalized service is priceless! Then, the room was amazing, the view of the river incredible, the hotel boat that takes you up and down the river to see the main sites of Bangkok, or over to restaurants at other hotels - all just fantastic. The breakfast is a veritable feast! From Dim Sum to omelets, you can spend hours just enjoying the selection of anything you can possibly imagine. Honestly everything about this hotel surpasses your desires, imagination, expectations. I wish we had stayed more than 2 days!…
The Peninsula is just the best all round, good value for money (most of the time) hotel in Bangkok. Great service, big rooms, excellent pool area and the romance of the River right next to you. Their on-demand boat service to various venues along the river makes the experience that extra special. There are many new hotels opening up, many of which we have checked out but for now The Peninsula will continue to be our go to. Having the very bustling city so close but yet so far also makes it a great destination for a short or longer break.
Great hotel on the river. Good rooms, service, restaurants and location. Complimentary river boat shuttle a nice touch. Excellent concierge support and a local tour guide arranged for main sight seeing requirements.
There a newer, taller, more expensive and luxurious offerings in the city but nothing beats the Peninsula for consisten service, value, service, food and location. It’s just an absolute delight staying here time after time. I’ve stayed in several other hotels in town but nothing ever fully satisfied me on every level as the Peninsula does over and over. I feel like I need to complain about something to add gravitas to my review so here you go, there are a few mosquitoes by the pool.
We stayed here 7 nights this time after our 11 nights in Mar this year, no more TEST&GO, picked up seamlessly by hotel BMW at the airport. We have been allocated a very high floor #1 room which has great view towards the IconSiam, Grand Palace, Wat Arun direction, no view on the Shangri La side, and we loved it. No fault in the room because it is like going back home. All restaurants are opened except the Chinese restaurant. We spent a lot of time at the pool. This time, the cabana are always occupied or occupied by people that were not really there, we didn't mind but just annoyed. The pool staff didn't provide rounds of free petite cold drinks anymore like last time except water. Pool staff didn't really sell drinks and food and we always had to go to order instead of them asking us first, we wonder why staff not proactively getting more revenue for the hotel! Breakfast very nice, no need to queue, but harder to get tables that had shades. Salmon was not there until around Day 4, the mangoes are so tasty. Tried the buffet on weekday and Sunday, the Sunday one supposed to be French seafood but was changed to seafood without the "French" but still very tasty. Dinner at Thiptara was relaxing to sit outdoor, but found the Thai food cooked in a way for people that can't eat spicy food, but we had great time there anyway. On the whole, it is great to see the occupancy has gone up and we still have private spaces to enjoy this urban resort. For my Package, I asked to change the complimentary massage for 2 to 2 buffet meals, it took me to ask the Upper Management to grant me the wish because all other staff told me it is not possible, I hope they can be more flexible in the future especially for exchanging of activities to a lower value one. Also, of all the hotels I stayed in Hong Kong and Tokyo this time, they all ask for my feedback after checkout and I am yet to receive a feedback form from the hotel, I wonder why!! This 5 star review can become a 4 star if the service is not maintained consistently in the long run, I will go back to check next time. …
