We found this place as one of the aparthotels that could also be booked for short term stay. We stayed there for 5 days in Sep.'12. It was a nice suite, with a functional kitchenette that came in handy. The hotel has three towers and we stayed in one of the outside towers. Just one dismal point - the two...

Located in the middle of soi 11 , the location is unbeatable It's priced the same as all the other budget but good quality hotels in the area The lobby is gorgeous, the staff friendly, breakfast is good The corridors and lifts are nice However the rooms are a bit of a let down, Everything inside is old and run...

Grand President lies on Sukhumvit Soi 11 - one of the most happening 'soi's even within one of the most happening districts in Bangkok. There's a wide variety of bars, restaurants, street food, convenience stores, money exchanges, tour operators etc. within a 5 minutes walk. The hotel itself is pretty modest, but that's okay because so is the room rate....

I traveled to Bangkok for a 2 month stay and settled on a service apartment in the Grand President primarily because of its location. It is located in the center of soi 11 which has everything any tourist would want ---bars, restaurants, clubs, street food, convenience stores, clothes stores -- you name it and its there. It is also close...

Dear Sir It was a pleasure to read your comment on tripadvisor.com. Grand President has a variety of rooms to choose from and tower 3 is our economy tower across the street. We have noted your point regarding the smell in the room and I shall investigate with our housekeeping department. Soi 11 is indeed a very busy road. Thank...

When you book a standard room thru Expedia or Agoda, the hotel will book you in tower 3 which is a dump. The rooms in this tower would rate somewhere between 1 star and two stars. They charge you 500 to 1000 baht for an upgrade to tower 2 which is slightly better (probably two stars) but still very old...

Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighbourhood Profile
Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.
