The hotel confirmed my arrangements on booking. The limousine service, although confirmed, had to be re-arranged as the hotel had booked the driver to meet me off completely the wrong flight, despite the right flight being on the confirmation. 30 minutes spent at Bangkok airport whilst the hotel re-arranged. The room, supposedly one of the best available, was in tower... More

As part of a group tour we stayed @ the Grand president Service Apartments. The Service apartment wing which is across the road from the modern looking hotel wings looks run-down. The room looked dated & was dimly lit. All facilities - restaurants, pool etc are located in the hotel wings across the road. Breakfast buffet was average & nothing... More

Rooms are spacey in all towers, especially in tower 2. Reception employees are nice, speak good English and ra always there to help. Every tower has it's own swimmingpool, allthough i like the one on tower 3 the most. Breakfast is very nice, good choice in different food from different countries. I would surely recommend GP BKK. Soi 11 is... More

I had many experiences with different hotels from the economical such as Siam City Hotel to 5 star hotels such as Landmark Hotel. I would say that Grand President offers more value than the money you paid for. The hotel is strategically located and have ample parking for vehicles. Ever since I started staying with Grand President, I had seen... More

Probably the worst hotel I have stayed in around sukhumvit - and I have stayed in a lot. The reception was very rude, they couldn't get my agoda booking because their reservations department was closed and told me the copy on my ipad was not sufficien, I was directed to the business centre to print the voucher. This was not... More

I have stayed in the Grand President during my trips to BKK for many years and I still cannot fault the value for money. The range of accommodation in the three towers is from reasonable low cost to apartment style. The cost usually includes breakfast which is one of the best range of food varieties I have experienced. The three... More

We stayed here again for the second time but the hotel I heard is still refurbishing. They really should. We were placed in Tower 3, supposed to have 4 double rooms but they upgraded us to 2 units of 2 bedroom suite that had a washer/dryer and that was good. I requested higher floors and they gave Level 8, top... More

Nice for the money. Clean and good location. The pool was good as a break from the hussle and bustle?

Rooms were large but very dated and kitchenette was falling apart. Hot water lasted about 2 seconds so I had to fill the bath with the kettle. Surrounded by restaurants in Soi 11 and a few bars. 5 min walk to the Nana MRT. Apparently the non-smoking rooms have been refurbished but the smoking rooms were pretty ordinary and I... More

I got a great rate on a one bedroom suite the Grand President from Compass Hospitality. The living room was of great value as I was to be there for 10 days. The suite was clean and comfortable and includes all things needed to cook if one wishes to save a dollar. There is a good market about a three... More

Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighbourhood Profile
Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.
