This is a gem of a hotel. The location is the best in Bangkok as it is near the night markets and entertainment. It is also near Sala Daeng skytrain station. 5th floor pool/terrace. choice of rooms/suites and staff very attentive. Bar restaurant of its own and the buffet breakfast very good.

This hotel is a great location if you want to be right around the corner from hectic Patong. The added benefit is the access to the Skytrain which is also a block away. The hotel itself is very outdated and has that musky smell throughout. The rooms were not very clean, and again in need of some major renos. Breakfast...

I chose this hotel because of its convenient location off Silom Road.It is looking a bit tired and they asked for a whopping 450Baht for Wifi use for every 24hours or 180Baht per hour.In a time when even Backpacker hostels give free Wifi ... When I asked for an area map I was told that it was for sale for...

My first stay at Swiss Lodge and I thought it was great value. The staff, especially reception and concierge were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was simple but good (proper yoghurt and delicious omelettes). The location is good and I was able to get taxis very quickly to take me to my various destinations. I was in a standard room but...

We were greeted with unfriendly service and told that as we'd booked Through Expedia rather than direct with the hOtel would need to pay a premium of what amounted to 25% of the room rate for wi fi and that we should have booked direct and not through Expedia! We reluctantly paid only to find that the wi fi was...

I stayed at this property twice in the last two weeks. I specifically asked for a quiet room both times. First time I was really happy with the place: it's conveniently located, very classy, certainly clean and comfortable, and indeed the room was very quiet. I was very happy. The second time though I arrived late at night and was...

It was a treat staying at this boutique hotel. The location was very convenient and the staff was extremely courteous, helpful and hospitable. The service was impeccable and left nothing to be desired. A bit tucked away off the famous Silom Road, but very close to the train station and within walking distance to many interesting markets and places. Every...

Nestled in a busy business district, it comes alive at night. Close to street market stalls, restaurants and a few Night-clubs clubs such as 'G.O.D' (400 BAHT approx entrance with a drink) There is a soi (small alley-street) with drinking bars if you walk across Silom Road. (this information 2011) This location is becoming more pro-gay as non-gays tend to...

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
