My only regret is that I did not discover this hotel sooner. I booked seven nights at the Grande Centrepoint Terminal 21, which I have always enjoyed. But when I needed to add two additional days at the beginning of my stay, I found the rate jumps to nearly 30,000 baht per night. I found the Shangri-La on Agoda for...

I keep on coming back to the Shangri la because of its location ,its on the river ,close to a Sky train station, great outdoor dinning and although there may be more modern and better 5 star hotels this one delivers each time.

The moment I stepped into the Krungthep Wing I was greeted by familiar and friendly faces and warm greetings such as "Welcome home Sir!" filled the air. Check-in was expeditious and seamless as I was ushered straight to the room with a huge balcony without having to go through the usual check-in process at the lobby. The room allocated to...

It upsets me to write this review, but my last stay at the Shangri-La did not live up to my expectations at all. The room and facilities of course were nothing but perfect, but the service was very lacking this time. We asked for a taxi to the Grand Palace and were told by the porter (in hotel uniform, I'm...

I had within 14 months my 2nd stay in this Hotel and liked it very much again. The location, the pool , the view are excellent. The atmosphere and service in the Horizon Club are also enjoyable. The Balcony rooms with the river view are very nice, also because in contrast to many other BKK Hotels the window can be...

Perfectly located in the heart of the city on the banks of the river. The cub rooms have access to a separate lounge for early evening drinks and breakfast. The club rooms are large and have all the amenities you'd expect for a hotel of this standard. A God choice of restaurants if you don't have time to explore the...

The hotel is what you'd expect from a Shangri-La, great service, facilities and amenities. Bangkok traffic is notoriously bad so having the SkyTrain right next door and the boat docks out front of the hotel is a real plus allowing you to avoid travel via cabs. The Chi spa is pricey compared to other options but is a beautiful facility.

First: I was in the second tower, which may be more luxurious than the rest of the hotel. Breakfast, high tea, and cocktail hour were all included in the bright, cheery, open lounge. My room was very very nice as well. It was expensive. Not as expensive as the Peninsula or Mandarin (next door and right across the river), but...

We stayed four nights over a long weekend with my mother and our two kids, 10 and 12. We loved it. The location near the Skytrain was helpful as was the adjacency to the river. We loved watching the vibrant activity of the river, almost 24/7. The pool was beautiful and offered terrific service for food and complementary water and...

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
