We love the Chao Phraya River, and ride a boat every time we get a chance, and often find a condo or a hotel with a river view. But our absolute favorite way to sample the sights and sounds of the river is to buy a drink at the waterside (between the pool and the river) bar at the Shangri-La...

The places is still very good, and the quality of breakfast, tea and happy hour is correct. My fourth stay but the service was inadequate. The staff has changed, and some of them are not friendly. Especially with my Thai wife, why? Only the pool staff is really nice and one of the Thai concierge and Thai receptionist are friendly....

It was our first time in Thailand, and Shangri-la set the tone for the perfect trip. Transfer service: Cold water and scented towels in the very nice Mercedes van, Check in: You are received at the door, then you just sit and relax at the hotel lobby while the staff takes care of the rest. Rooms: We got a river...

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a 3 week holiday to Thailand - this was our first stop having flown in from Heathrow. The hotel standard is what you would expect from a 5 star hotel in London and New York. The location is fantastic. From this hotel we:- - walked to State Tower (5mins away) and...

We stayed 5 nights and we loved it. Although the hotel is 30 years old, it is well maintained. Location is great (next to metro station and Sathon pier), pool is great and peaceful, staff is super helpful, kind and polite. Breakfast is outstanding... Free shuttle to asiatique market is convenient. Value for money is unbeatable, we will come back...

Stayed here for 4 days in January 2015. Service, amenities, rooms were all 5 stars. Had a stunning river view room on the 20th floor. Pool and outdoor areas very nice, gym was fantastic with sauna, steam room etc. Location was great, too.

I have been choosing this hotel for my stays in Bangkok for many years. The best part is service with all of its staff members really helpful and willing to deal with any request. If you choose to stay at the Krungthep Wing, you will enjoy personalised butler service. Special thanks goes to the butler named Helen - she has...

We stayed at the Krungthep wing for two nights in January. The rooms, views and service are amazing. The private pool area which is reserved for residents of the Krungthep wing is a bit small but very relaxed as there are not too many people. The complmentary boat to Asiatique was quite convenient as well as is the fact that...

Dear Robin L, Thank you for choosing Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok. We are delighted to read of such wonderful review. We are happy to hear that you had a lovely stay with us. We know that traffic on Taksin Bridge can be a little noisy at times, especially during the rush hours and when out on the balcony. Might I recommend...

I haven't stayed here so this review only concerns the Long Bar and cocktails. The location is perfect for a balmy night on the Chao Praya river. The cocktails are not cheap but with the location and atmosphere, well worth the money, especially during happy hour. Spring rolls are delicious. A great place to spend a couple of hours, soaking...

We came to eat the famous buffet brunch at the Next2 cafe as outside visitors, not as hotel guests. A minute after we left the taxi, we realized we forgot our daughter's cart in the trunk. The guest relations manager, Khun Oi, took excellent care of us and through the CCTV camera recordings found the taxi's number and was able...

Dear MrPitz, Great to hear that you all had a nice time at our brunch. We are pleased to read that our colleague, Khun Oi, was able to help you out in retrieving the push cart. Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
