This is not only a budget hotel but is very strategically placed for the backpackers within the close vicinity of Bangkok's transport network. The Room is nice, clean and cosy for you to just catch upon sleep after the day's tour. The breakfast served in the morning is homely and very nice to start your day. The elderly lady running...

Great little hotel which is close to all amenities. Comfy bed and an adequate breakfast considering the price. Some fruit, toast and scrambled eggs with unlimited coffee. Staff were young but very friendly and appeared competent until it came time to check out when they tried to get me to pay again for my room. Forgetting that I had already...

Had a quick night in BKK and found this hotel on the way from the airport into town. Got a simple single for the night, price was very reasonable. Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
La Résidence is an intimate, yet hip boutique hotel in the heart of Bangkok. Located on Suriwongse Road next to Silom Road, it enjoys easy access to all the major shopping areas and is only minutes away from the Chao Phya River which is the best shortcut to all the famous temples via river taxis. Patpong Road, the notorious entertainment area which converts into a shopping bazaar from 1700 until 0200 is only a few blocks away. Major shopping centers as well as souvenir shops at the Silom Village are also within walking distance.Well known for its beautifully decorated rooms and delicious, authentic Thai food, La Résidence is a rare find in a city full of cliched decor and banal rooms. Each of our twenty six luxurious rooms and suites are equipped with all the amenities and charmingly furnished with lots of little personal touches and each with it's own unique theme.Best of all, rates are very reasonable coupled with impeccable service. Most of the guests are regulars who could afford 5-star hotels, but wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else. ... more   less
