Our arrival back from a fantastic small hotel in Cambodia was greeted by a sea of mourners and general chaos outside the hotel which made it difficult to access. Once inside the staff were friendly enough but that's where the good bits end. Our room, described as deluxe with modern decor, city views, a separate seating area and safe, coffee... More

Mold on ceiling and bathroorms. Dirty. Holes in walls. Construction inside hotel all night. Location good, but I would not stay there again and would not recommend. It's like something straight out of the 50s. The ancient light thing didn't work, as you can imagine from the photo. We were afraid to touch anything and beds were like sleeping on... More

This is the worst hotel I have stayed in so far. The front desk didn't welcome me instead they wouldn't talk to me until I found my passport, even though I showed them a photo copy of it. Maybe they gave me a poor room on purpose, room #469. The bell boy brought up my luggage and then he dropped... More

Definitely built a few decades ago but was built with class. Now, it gives off an older vibe with a bell hop carrying your luggage only a few feet before asking for a tip. They try to keep the high class vibe but it is fleeting. I will say that the redeeming quality is that they serve kobe steak for... More

I would like to recommend a great hotel in Bangkok. It is two minutes walk Kooasan, a kilometer from the palace, drive five minutes in a taxi to Chinatown, ten minutes by MBK and all the malls, so he has great location, especially for me, I was going with a girl of twelve, and a really fun evening go to... The place is nice enough. The location is ideal for Kaosan Road. Affordable, yet staff is not the most astute to its customers' needs. We had a hard time finding it when we arrived as the address was incorrect on Air BnB. The buffet is not very good either.

Booked a deluxe room, no idea how this room earned that title, very run down but about to start renovations. Service was non-existent, cold shower only/ asked to have it fixed - but did not happen. Had to ask several times to get toilet paper. Breakfast was terrible - not many choices for Westerners and what was there was cold,... More

My family of 6 stayed here for just 1 night in transit. The location is superb for visiting the palace and temples- it was an easy walk. The hotel was comfortable and very inexpensive. Air con and wifi both worked fine and rooms were clean.Breakfast buffet was extensive and ok. Would recommend

I'm sure it's good for tourists with plenty of money or families, but the rooms felt extremely dated. The reception desk people are also fairly rude and ask for a lot of unnecessary paperwork that I was not asked for anywhere else while staying in Thailand. Shower temperature control is either hell's fires hot or cold. The breakfast buffet is... More

We visited this hotel for a few days whilst staying in Bangkok, the staff were friendly and helpful and the location was also really good. The issue we had was they currently are undergoing repairs so the noise from 9am-5pm was horrific. Also by the pool the noise was an issue, there weren't enough sun loungers and we had to... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
