Pleasant, peaceful, central. Cannot fault cleanliness, excellent location, value for money. Highly recommend if you are just looking for somewhere to lay your head at night. Recommend including the breakfast!

We got ripped off by a staff at Silom Village Inn our last night. I don't give bad reviews unless I have solid reasons. I'm an easy going traveller and I don't mind a bit of old, rustic looking rooms. This isn't a hotel - it's more like an old motel. No complaints on the room except for its old...

We had one night here recently in the slightly more expensive room and it was excellent. These rooms are in a building at the back and there arr no fire escape issues. The room was large and clean with a comfy bed and spacious bathroom. The hotel also has an on site restaurant with tasty rice and noodles at lunchtime...

For these prices, you can't complain about the lack of extras. Don't expect a kettle. And irons and ironing boards are not available. The service at the reception and at the restaurant can be unsmiling – the staff look a little battle-weary, as if they have dealt with one too many drunken guest. On the plus side, the place is kept...

Nice room, friendly staff. Wifi only in lobby and not fast. Room was allright, nice beds. Not much to do in the area. Good tailors nearby. Little bit noisy streat. Close to Lumpini parc. We stayed only one short night, after arriving from the AirPort.

Having stayed with them for 5 nights, I've gotta say! You can't get better value for money. As is the case always, sometimes you end up getting exactly what you paid for but NOT with this property. It had a certain rustic feel. Mind you! This is an aged property and is bang in the center of Downtown Bangkok. The...

Located in the heart of Bangkok, this was one of my favorite hotels. They don't have great (or for that matter any) amenities, however it's located pretty much in the heart of the night market, which makes it ideal for shopping and street food. The staff is kind and helpful. They plan your tours around Bangkok for you, so that's...

The rooms are quite big and clean. The housekeeping comes every day. The only bad point of the room is that you cannot open the windows, and since they are all smoking room, it doesn’t smell good inside. I suggest to the hotel to put some complimentary incense stick. Also ask for a room with a view, most of them...

For less than $US40 (Agoda) a night for a standard room the Silom Village Inn, on face value, represents a great deal. Especially being so central and set in very pleasant surroundings with a number of boutique (read expensive) shops and restaurants in what I would describe as a village square type set up. There are also Thai cultural shows...

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
