We were very fortunate to come across this hotel. It is based in old town Bangkoke so very near the historic sights (Grand Palace &a temples) but also only a 10 minute walk from that den of iniquity that is Khao San Road. The hotel is a bit expensive by Bangkok standards but the cleanliness was worth it. The room...

Wonderful hotel situated right on the river with lots to explore nearby. The pool was an incredible oasis from the heat. Rooms were clean, modern and included a great patio sitting area with sofa. Breakfast was very good and catered to a wide variety of tastes. The staff were excellent; welcoming, helpful and always cheerful. I would absolutely stay at...

I would rather keep this as a secret find for myself however that is selfish! It is the second time we have visited Thailand and we again started our holiday in the Riva Surya and were reminded just how much we love it here again. It is so easy....... the staff are friendly and helpful but not overpowering, the boutique...

This place is great. Quick walk to a boat dock where you can pick up a boat to a bunch of sights (way easier than the chaotic street transportation of Bangkok), cool restaurants on the same street (check out Peeps), good-sized rooms and a nice pool overlooking the river. Plus, a very attentive staff. Couldn't have been more pleased with...

Stayed here for business. Perfect location and positioned on the river boat line. Easy to access the rest of Bangkok via the river rather than taxis. Rooms were great. Great bed and pillows. Gym also in good shape. Pool was nice and perfect for a soak. Breakfast was unimpressive and not worth the 300baht+ price. Opted for a 15baht 7-11...

Very nice hotel, good staff. The hotel is right on the river. Theres a river boat taxi stop next to the hotel, perfect for sightseeing. The food is very good. Beware of taxi drivers who try to take you somewhere else. Theres lots of bars and restaurants near by. Enjoy.😎

We loved our stay at the Riva Surya. We stayed there for four nights with some friends, and we were all very happy with the hotel. Highlights: Location (close enough to the action, but still quiet), great pool, comfortable king-sized bed, nice staff Only drawback was that breakfast was not included and was a little pricey for the area. Boutique hotel, with lovely position, friendly staff, and great pool and garden area. Our room had a river view - worth it! It was possible to walk the riverside path all the way to Wat Pho, avoiding most of the traffic. Did not eat in the restaurant but the breakfast was superb.

My wife and I stayed at this wonderful hotel on the Bangkok leg of our holiday to Thailand. The staff were really friendly and attentive and always looking for ways to help, advising on transport and places to go etc. The rooms were really comfortable - our room faced onto the road but that was fine. The hotel is conveniently...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
