I just finished a 35 night stay at this hotel and give the hotel an “A+” grade overall! First, the hotel is run by the new GM, Pete Lucas, formerly the GM of the Westin Grande Bangkok. You can’t say enough about this guy. Staffers love him as do guests like myself who have known him during the 5 years he ran the Westin. The second in command at this hotel, Ismal, is yet another former Westin Bangkok staffer and a great guy. He has been at the hotel for a number of years now and handles myriad tasks here. No doubt, a future Marriott GM in the making for Ismal! The new #3 guy at this hotel is Executive Chef Mattias. As I said above, this guy is a ROCKSTAR. He handled all my dietary needs flawlessly. His resume is extremely impressive and he was well trained in Switzerland and throughout the World on some of the largest cruise ships where he was the top chef before coming back to Thailand. He puts his “heart and soul” into his work and shows up to lend a helping hand on even his days off. Bottom line- he is this hotel’s “secret weapon” that will not be a secret much longer! Bravo Executive Chef Mattias!! But, the great staff goes way beyond these top 3 guys. In my 35 nights at the hotel, I had great experiences with at least 35-40 other staffers that I will list below. My apologies in advance for any staffer I inadvertently left off this list. If you helped me in any way, rest assured you were wonderful at your job as well! Great staffers at the 40th floor Executive Lounge as well as the first floor breakfast included Bank, Aun, Game, Bond, Golf, Ja, Jarin, Kim, Art, Paully, Bhatia and Pookie. Thank you Chef for your fantastic Crepes! Thank you team for running the 40th floor lounge so flawlessly all the time! At the Front Desk- thank you Laila for being my “point person” as well as Peary and the great two assistants that helped me with my incidental charges over the 35 nights and checked me out. I apologize for not writing down your names, but please let Laila know who you are so you can get well deserved recognition from the hotel. Additional staffers that I thank include Prik, Pka, Pada, Michelle and May from the District and a special “shout out”to Nid who was another superstar of this hotel and made a special dinner at the District that much more special. Also, thank you YSM, LM, Wichieu, Atjima, Piyawadee, Pikul, Kanyaratt, Theerawat, Prawittachat, Thanarak, Saranut, Lea and Khady. But, let’s not forget Housekeeping. My regular housekeeper Arisa was yet another superstar. Great job keeping my room spotless over the 35 nights and when she had a day off thank you to Ken and Chichatada for helping out as well. Great job to all who made my first stay at this hotel so enjoyable and I hope to see you again real soon! …
Stayed at the hotel for six nights it was very comfortable stay with great breakfast and wonderful staff specially at the executive lounge. The only setback was the location ..We always had a taxi problem. It was difficult to get taxis at this location .The taxis parked opposite, then come in and take advantage of charging double the price. Otherwise the hotel is perfect.
we booked this hotel to finish our trip to Thailand, based on reviews and location (Thong Lo/Wattana. The location has an big city feeling, nice, close to bts, skybars etc. Check in was quite long and laborious. All information was already online availible. Rooms are rather small, but well maintained. A bit dated in style. No espressomachine, No charging points/ usb on both sides on the nightstands wich is quite old fashioned. The telephone in the toilet confirms the dates of the rooms:-). Good shower and nice placed bathtubs!!. The breakfast room is a bit on the cold side (aircon) we hear more guests complaining that its a bit chilly. choice is good, huge assortiment of asian breakfast. Western a bit limited. The district Grill room is a “classic grand hotel” restaurant, also dated and also very chilly due aircondition. The service though is great, attentive and polite, acctualy the best during our whole Thailand trip. Food choice classic, ceasar, bisque, etc, but the food of great quality and all served on the right temperature with pre heated China. a real fine diner, though a bit pricy even compared to European standards. Doormen and reception are friendly and service minded!…
The Marriott Sukhumvit is an amazing property with great service. I’ve stayed here three times and each time is better and better. Tina, the front office trainee, is absolutely the best! She goes out of her way to take care of her guests. She is the epitome of five star hospitality!
Having tried several 4 or 5 stars hotels in Bangkok over the past 15 + years, the turn had now come to Bangkok Marriott Sukhumvit. It is very much a Marriott in the sense that it is tailored to a US sense of luxury. If you’re looking for an Asian luxury hotel, this hotel will leave you disappointed. The fresh flowers all around the lobby, the scented oils on every floor, fresh flowers in your room - forget it. With that said, we had an absolutely fantastic five days at the Marriott Bangkok Sukhumvit. The room 3706 was one of the best hotel rooms we’ve ever stayed in. Why? 1. The bathroom - the pure beauty of it plus it’s amenities. 2. The bed - extremely comfortable 3. The hallway where one could hide away all luggage. We very much enjoyed the complimentary two pressed items per day. Our shirts and pants have rarely been so well pressed. The pool area was great with plenty of towels and sun beds with comfortable mattresses. The pool was not heated and therefore rather cold. This was a relief since the sun was really baking. It was nice to be able to really chill off. The only downside to the pool area was the window cleaners who kept spilling their water whilst working on the outside windows of the skyscraper. This resulted in a constant “rain” in the pool area. I saved the best for last - the executive lounge. Again, it doesn’t look like much. Quite boring in fact. But the food and the service! Absolute top notch! Amazing cocktails and wonderful food made from scratch. We couldn’t make ourselves go out for dinner during this Bangkok visit since the food in the lounge was so delicious. We especially want to thank Jessica who gave us the most excellent service every night at the lounge.…
Fabulous hotel and excellent location. Felt very safe in and around the neighborhood. The staff were excellent and not overly attentive either, just the right touch. I had a king room overlooking the city and the sunset view was out of this world. The roof top bar was also phenomenal but note - you need a reservation to sit at any of the tables, due to its popularity. Just for the bar, yes. I did not use in-room dining but heard from colleagues who did it was great. I highly recommend staying here and when I’m back in Bangkok, will do so.
Really enjoyed the hotel and experience we were well taken care of by Bebie from the moment we arrived. Love the rooms and the restaurants and everything it up to the standard. The location is great as well
Unmistakably the best option for a well located international hotel in Thong Lo, one of the hip town of Bangkok which is not too crowded. Room is great, well maintained with a lovely round tub to soak in after a long day of walking around Bangkok city. Bed is comfortable, and the room comes with all the basic necessities. Lobby is nice and welcoming, conceirge service staffs are superb! Hotel has an a amazing rooftop bar up on the 45th floor. Thong Lo BTS station is a minute walk away, lots of amazing restaurants within the vicinity. Popular EmQuartier Shopping Mall is one stop away. Lots of great japanese restaurants two streets away from the hotel. Will definitely choose to stay at this Marriott hotel again on my next visit to Bangkok.
Check in was fast and offered me upgrade to executive room. However, when we check in the room 4002. The toilet bowl was dirty and the down lights above the bed was not properly fix. But it was attended immediately by Front desk and change me to another room with complimentary of breakfast. Hotels location is good. Service is excellent. Breakfast quality of food can be better. Mr. Clayapol shown very impressive in service. Overall is a good stay and service was excellent
