I paid for two nights but the receptionist only put me through for one night. They threatened to call the police on me, shouted at me called me a liar and a cheat, then when we went to check the cctv it was not clear what money was handed over so they made me pay for the extra night even...

I got there around 13:40 from the airport with my mum, so we wanted to check in a little early. We were told we had to wait until 2 pm in reception, we told the ladies we had a tour at 2 pm. They said we could leave our bags just in the lobby like the other bagpackers and they...

I stayed here with my son and I was very disappointed. Very small and Noisy room, only one plug in to charge our phones, receptionist didn't understand English very well. Planned to stay 3 nights but after just 1 we decided to relocate off of Khoasan Road to enjoy a little more R and R.

Everytime we go to Bangkok we go back to this hotel. Perfect location, very clean, good wifi, air con efficient and not noisy. Some people complain about the street noise, of course if you don't specify you want a quiet room (not facing the road) it might be an issue. The breakfast is average, but there is many restaurants on...

First of all this is nice place to stay with air con, lots of space and a decent shower. It's not the cheapest but I thoroughly recommend it for your first stop off the plane. You will see many other travellers fresh faced with clean backpacks here staying in a place with air con the adjust to the heat of...

In my opinion a great hotel; I was a little nervous travelling alone after my friends went home but the staff at D&D were brilliant (despite what some reviews say) my room was a lovely sunrise. Very clean and decorated pleasently. I will hopefully be staying here again next year! Also, yes it's nosiy and there's buildinh work going on...

Every time we travel to Thailand we like to stay here as we like the Khaosan area, Rooms are basic and bare but always cleaned well and fresh towels, Great free wifi, good breakfast, really no complaints at all for the price!!! For such a busy area the roof top pool is nice for a sunbathe and a chill out!

I would go with the idea of not expecting too much and you'll be pleasantly surprised! Right in the heart of where's it's all happening.... Mini beasts on skewers and bars having 'music offs' We choose this hotel, for 2 nights, purely on location and for an experience.... Which it certainly was! The reception staff are not the friendliest but...

If you know where it is then it is obviously in a great location. But the staff weren't particularly helpful not even showing us to our room, which was down a maze of corridors and signs that didn't even have the right room numbers on. Bearing in mind we had just been on a rather horrible 14 hour journey from...

Rooms are terrible (we stayed there a few times with a different kind of room and they are just awful) but the swimming pool is big and awesome. The breakfast has a large choice of food and drinks.....

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
