Originally booked only for one night, wanted to extend but could not as it was fully booked for the new year. So had to stay elsewhere before we scrambled back here. Room was small and cozy, cottage styled, blue walls, comfortable bed with a lot of pillows, bathroom clean and my favourite the mosquito net (very romantic!). It was a...

This was a great place to stay seeing as we had never been to Bangkok before. We stayed here twice, the first time our room was better than the second time, but all and all we enjoyed our stay. Once you have learnt to navigate your way around the small alley way, this hotel works as a great jumping point...

This is a great hotel literally round the corner from Khao San Rd. I stayed in a double room for 4 nights, the room was a good size with a comfortable & clean double bed. The en-suite was clean, although a little stange as the shower was directly above the toilet! The room also had air-con, a TV & a...

This little guest house is fine, but I booked a trip to Cambodian with them that was terrible and way overpriced. They put me up at the Sawasdee Angkor Inn which is less than satisfactory. And my tour wasn't a tour it all - it was simply a hired tuk-tuk for a few hours. Something anyone could easily do themselves.

Stayed here for 2 nights after arriving in Thailand & was pleasantly suprised as have heard nightmare stories abut accomodation on the khosan rd.! Nice that the place sits just off the main street through the stalls and down a lane..gets you away from the madness! We had a clean, well equipped room (decent shower, good a/c, tv, free bottled water) and...

Good location stayed here twice. Nice and clean no frills. Don't risk staying in a dump when this place is quite nice.

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
