This hotel in the heart of fascinating China Town is a great place to bases yourself to explore the city. It is stunningly decorated and the staff are all very welcoming and helpful - the manager even arranged for us to not have to check out until 8pm for a night flight, which was very much appreciated to be able...

Great ambiance, as if you go back to a luxurious hotel in the 1920’s Shanghai. The hotel has a fine restaurant and a very nice bar near the street with good live jazz music. In the centre of China Town, and close to many other attraction in Bangkok. We are very happy that we have been staying here.

You will definitely not be in the middle of tourist staying at this hotel. I absolutely loved staying in China town in Bangkok. Crossing the streets as in all of Thailand is a bit like Frogger but don't fear no one will hit you they actually slow down and don't honk their horn at you as they do in the...

I love the ambiance of this hotel. This is my second year running to stay at this hotel and it does not disappoint. Even better this time was the free upgrade to a much larger room with a very very large bathtub. It has an ambiance and style all of its own and to my mind is quite simply unique....

I cannot recommend this place enough. It is classy but affordable and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms were tastefully decorated and the lack of natural light didn't bother me (we were on the fourth floor). The snacks in the mini bar were free which was a nice touch. The toiletries were also good (not your run...

This hotel was a wonderful place to stay, although I wouldn't consider it centrally located. For most sites we wanted to see we ended up taking a 15-20 minute taxi or tuk tuk ride, which is usually 100-250 baht each way depending on your negotiating skills. Getting to the sites was cheap as the concierge would stand outside to hail...

Late January, early February, we spent 10 nights at this hotel right in the middle of Bangkok's Chinatown. Staying in Chinatown / Yaowarat

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown / Yaowarat
Better known as 'Yaowarat' among locals, Chinatown is Bangkok's bustling district that never sleeps. During the day, the main street and its small alleyways are filled with a vibrant mix of colours, scents and flavours coming from the roadside restaurants and all-day markets. The real action, however, happens after sunset. Surrounded by neon lights, Thais and tourists alike flock here around dinnertime to feast on some of the best street food in town. Escape the chaos by venturing a little further from the main road and discover hidden shrines, friendly locals and daily life in its purest form.
