Great stay at Arun Residence. Staff very helpful and accommodating. Location was excellent, walking distance toWhat Pho, Grand Palace and long tail boat ride. Restaurant was wonderful. Recommend using car service as the hotel is not in a Main Street.

We spent our last night in Bangkok at this romantic, boutique hotel. It is a lovely old building with characterful rooms and wonderful views across the river to Wat Arun. We made the most of this by eating in the garden restaurant and having a nightcap in the Deck bar on the 4th floor. It's well located for sight seeing...

We visited the Deck few years ago and were impressed of this small hotel. It is the best location to look at Wat arun, the icon of Siam. We got a room which has not been on the river side. Any how the room is cute little gimmicks of two stories. We took Tuk Tuk to city hall and wat...

I stayed one night at the Havili suite detached from the office and restaurant. The thing that I still can't get over with is the atmosphere and what it must have felt like back a hundred years ago in the ancient capital of the biggest capital in the world back in its days. Watching the iconic Temple of the dawn...

This was one of the most accomodating and beautiful locations that we have stayed in during our travels. I would highly recommend it to anyone that wants a small hotel, great restaurant, view is amazing and within walking distance to many different sights, markets, etc. The staff is so friendly. We will be back!

Right in front of the Wat Arun temple 4 storeys above the river a super nice spot for a drink at sun down. Friendly atmosphere nice drinks and an amazing view on the river and the temple. Manage to be there at sundown it's really magic.

For a location like this, overlooking the river and Wat Arun, I was expecting something quite pricey. In fact I was pleasantly surprised as the costs were quite reasonable and the food quite nice. There was too some variety with both local and Western dishes.

If you're wanting to stay by the river or walking distance to the Grand Palace this is the place! We had two rooms, Lotus and Chaba, and both were very charming and beautifully decorated with a loft bedroom, which included a lounge area, which was very cosy and romantic. The Lotus room had views of the river on both levels...

Arun Residence is in a wonderful location....walking distance to Wat Pho and the Grand Palace. Plus, there are many restaurants nearby and little shops/markets. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The rooms are very rustic and quaint and clean. The bed is up some winding stairs to a loft. Typical Asian style firm mattress.....mattress actually on the floor due...

The area of this hotel is my favored location to be just far enough away from the madding crowds but still near enough to get around Bangkok. Accordingly, most of the places in this area fit my bill and Arun Residence was very good and the nearby restaurants and access to mini stores, boat and the Royal area make this...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
