Wonderful views of the temple. We had a suite and the room was lovely. Walking distance to things like the grand palace. Staff helpful at check in. Room was quite. I would probably pass on the dinner there- expensive and not as good as other...More
Arun Residence is in a prime location on the east bank of the Chao Phraya River, directly across from the scenic Wat Arun temple complex. The photos don't lie: from river-facing rooms and from the hotel restaurant and bar, you'll have great views of the...More
We stayed at the Haveli suite (booking only available on hotel website I think). Prime location right next to Wat Po with stunning view of Wat Arun (my favorite Wat at Bangkok). 5mins walk to flower market, 5mins walk to the Grande palace (12mins to...More
The hotel is located at a good location. It is right across the street from the famous "WAT PHO" (The Reclining Buddha)(Entrance Fee 100 THB) & "GRAND PALACE". Just across the road.
We booked this hotel on the riverfront only for the view of "WAT...More
This small cafe (The Gate) serves great coffee and the staff are very friendly. It is popular with locals and tourists alike. The menu looks interesting although I confess I haven't eaten here. It is close to the Wat Pho complex and not too far...More
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around
Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
As other responders noted this is not a luxury property. My wife and I stayed in the Arun Suite, with a private balcony overlooking the river, with a great view. If you can get that room I think it would be a great... More
As other responders noted this is not a luxury property. My wife and I stayed in the Arun Suite, with a private balcony overlooking the river, with a great view. If you can get that room I think it would be a great romantic honeymoon spot. I don't know about the other rooms. The hotel is small and the decor has a charming eccentricity and a "funky" ambience. I mean that in a positive way. As others noted it has a great location for walking to the Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Wat Arun is across the river. A ferry terminal is nearby to cross the river. Amorosa Bar is a nice spot to have a drink and watch the sunset and the restaurant on site is convient for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Other dining is within walking distance.
