We stayed here for 5 days in January. The location is great, and it's convenient to have the attached bar and restaurant, both of which are very respectable (with stunning views of Wat Arun). The room we stayed in was very comfortable and decorated nicely. The bar on the top floor of the hotel is very popular, so we could...

It's quite a sweet little place in old town, very close to port as well. We stayed 2 days, as the 1st morning we participated a local tour earlier than breakfast time, they were sweet to prepared sandwich for us ! And the night view was incredible ~

We stayed here for two nights in January 2012 on the recommendation of a friend and were glad we did. The hotel has stunning views over the river to Wat Arun (especially at night). Although it is located down a side street we were surprised how many people were in for dinner and wished we'd made a reservation out on...

This is a great little hotel with very kind and helpful staff. If you want downtown Bangkok and all that goes with it, this is not the place to stay. If you want to see Wat Arun, Wat Pho, the Grand Palace (which takes a day), then you'll not find a better place and a better location. There are only...

We have spent 2 days there. We have chosen Jasmine suite and it was big, comfortable and with a beautiful Arun Temple panorama. Restaurant is good but some waiter didn't understand english as weel. The location is the old town so you can visit also by foot the Royal Palace, The longer Buddah and use the boat long Chao Praya...

3500 Baht for that room is a rip off. Don't go. Room was very smal no view to the river. AC did not work the 2nd night.

We stayed at the Arun for 3 nights and had the Arun Suite and the Ratchapruek Suite. Both suites are nicely decorated with the Arun having a better layout and balcony. Both had fantastic views of Wat Arun! The location is great for visiting Wat Pho, Wat Arun, Grand Palace and the flower market (all within walking distance). We used...

Great views. I stayed there my first night in Bangkok and loved it. Rooms were beautiful, Location was perfect. Easy access to the Grand Palace and any other of the main attractions. The first night I arrived and couldn't sleep so I went to the 3am flower market. I had asked the hotel to call me a cab, they told...

The Arun Residence is a small, but fashionable hotel in the heart of the "old Bangkok" and far from the hotel areas of the City. If you are looking for something tasting of traditional Asia in Bangkok this is the place! (the hotel is at the end of as small street, were thai families live) The view of Wat Arun...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
