The conditions and locations are quite ok. The place looks clean. The ladies on the reception are inconvenient and impolite, speaking with you with an arrogant manner. Let's see the facts: - For two times I needed to request to speak with me without yelling; - they round up the credit card charge without advice; - they don't allow any...

A great place to stay. In the past we always stayed ad new siam 2. But the resend modernisation made it more for families (also a great stay, but not where we were looking for). The room was clean and big. The staf is nice and the prices are okay. Best of all, it's only a few minites from the...

I booked a single room in New Siam in advance and this was a mistake. Though the room was relatively clean, it was almost impossible to sleep there. The single rooms are on the 5th floor, exposed to the sun all day long. It felt as it was about 60-70 Celsius in the room half an hour after the sunset....

I stayed in Bangkok for 5 days at this guest house. We traveled in a big group of 30 people and rented 10 rooms. Altough this place was located near all those tourist attraction (i.e. Khaosan Road, Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Wat Arun, Chao Praya River), the staff didn't show that this hostel was a part of tourism industry in...

We booked an ensuite twin room with a/c here online, and extended our stay when we arrived for a slightly lower price than listed online (620THB in high season, negotiated to include WiFi). Rooms are quiet and basic, with solid brick walls to keep sound out from other rooms and outside, and are clean. Beds are hard but comfortable, WiFi,...

Me and my boyfriend stayed in a private room with aircon and private bathroom at 620THB, compared to most places along this road and near Khao San this place is one of the better priced. The room is spacious and clean. There is a tv but its got terrible signal so you cant see the channels. We asked to get...

Great location. Near Khaosan road. Near the nightlife, restaurants, temples, etc. Room is a bit small but you are getting what you are paying for. Staff are not accommodating specially the receptionists.

We stayed in the ac room on the G floor the first two nights which was horrendous. The ac was a real old type which wasn't adjustable so every night the ac would blow directly onto us while asleep which can get very cold to say the least. Then on the second night, the toilet started spewing a sewage type...

Meh is all it is if you get a single. I looked around and was able to find a room with aircon the same hygiene level for the same price, comparison shop just the few in the area and then haggle, it's worth the 25 minutes trust me. I booked one night and left in the morning.

It's actually really good if you think about how little you pay. I must say that me and my friend are on a budget trip, we're backpacking so our standard in a room is low in comparison to a charter trip. There are small rooms but nice, not disgusting. Clean sheets. But we don't have a connector socket though?? Weird....

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
