Stayed for one night before leaving for Koh Tao with the bus next day. Very backpacker, but We needed a bed and a TV, and that they had for little money. We might stay here when We return, but maybe we will have some recommendations from people we meet on our trip. I have considered Sukhumvit area as well. The...

I stayed here with a friend in a fan double room. First impression of room was okay-clean and all we needed and expected. Staff are a bit miserable but restaurant food is okay. However, we were paying 460baht a night and our fan was useless so all our stay was more or less sleepless - advice : never ditch on...

I stayed here at the beginning and end of my trip. I was kind of in the party mode so I was not bothered by the blaring music in the club next store that went on through all hours of the night. However, if I had tried to go to sleep before 2-3am it would have been a major problem....

We arrived at 10.30pm with no reservation and they were very accommodating. Free wifi was good, worked in the restaurant and in the bedrooms. Staff not overly friendly, but were not rude. On a second trip to Bangkok after an overnight bus from Chaing Mai and needed a room for the day to freshen up before another overnight journey. They...

My friend and I moved to this hostel as it was 300baht cheaper than our previous hotel and had wifi and hot showers and was more central. If you are looking for luxury, don't stay here. Rooms are very basic, but perfect for backpackers. Hot showers are great, everything's clean, beds hard but all are in Thailand. Staff aren't the...

Check into this "hotel" Staff wern'y very nice, you had to put a deposit down for your key and towel? haha anyways. We were shown to the room. Being on a budget it looked ok. We opened the bathroom door and the place stunk unbeleivably. We asked them to come clean it and they did and smell went away for...

I used to go to Star Dome Inn since 2007 because of the great location, the dirty cheap price and the bright clean rooms facing the Soi Rambuttri street. But over the years, I noticed that nothing was maintained, the bathrooms were getting "black" dirty and the showers broken, the mattresses not renewed. The breakfast waiters (I should say waitresses...

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
