This guesthouse is in a great location very close to the Khao San Road area but also far enough away for some peace and quiet. It's right by one of the canals and has a lovely local feel with a small market just a minute walk away. We had a large corner room on the third floor which had great views over canal and nearby rooftops. Room very clean and light with a large shower room and separate sink area. The pool is a decent size but maybe needed a few more sun loungers around it. Staff very helpful and were able to organise a reasonably priced taxi for our trip to airport. You need to bear in mind that cars can't drop you off here as a pedestrian area but just a minute walk to the road. A bit of a shame that the on site restaurant has now moved 200 metres further along the canal but they do a good breakfast there and there are a number of other local shops and cafes within a few mins walk. Overall a great place to stay away from the hustle and bustle and sky scrapers of Bangkok. …
We are having a five night stay at this great hotel. It’s clean, tidy and comfortable with everything that you could reasonably want to ensure a stay in the area is enjoyable. Superb swimming pool that is scrupulously clean and well maintained. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Plenty of hot drinks provided in the foyer and lounging/pool areas, with a constant supply of fresh, delicious bananas. A supply of free bottled water (an essential in the hot, humid climate) and lots of other thoughtful touches. Rooms very clean and well serviced with great air conditioning (another essential), the all important beds, pillows and linen, all to a highly comfortable standard. Superb value and far beyond what we expected for the bargain price.
I stayed here for 3 nights, I really liked it, I felt really cozy and the area is very calm therefore there was no noise at all. The pool was good, not so big but enough, I enjoyed it. The only thing you must take into account is the location - it is not so close to any metrostation. This proves to be a problem, because walking 20 minute in Bangkok is different than walking 20 minutes in Europe (I did not know but the pavements are in bad condition, there are barely any street lights and people will not stop at crosswalks, you have to run). And then I thought Grab/Bolt would do the work but simply it is impossible to find a ride when it is raining or rush hour. I had to wait for extremely long time after taking airport link train to the last station and waiting to find a car to drive me the last 3 km to the hotel. So next time I would book something closer to metro to avoid this problem. Sorry and sad because the hotel itself was lovely and you can go on foot to Khao San Road but for the other attractions, you need some transport.…
Location was great, only 15 minutes walk to Kao San Road, but a little further from the nearest MRT. Staying along the canal embankment is lovely- and nice to watch the giant fish and lizards swimming about. The rooms were so so, our shower was constantly blocked and flooded the floor. The Aircon was really freezing no matter what temperature it was set at. There was no restaurant facilities and often very few staff at all. The reception desk guy was helpful.
We used this as a base whilst in Bangkok. It is setback 20m from the road, accessed along a path where the road crosses a canal. It was good value, with clean and comfortable rooms. Communal areas were welcoming. Helpful staff. The pool was a bonus. The location was ideal to see the main sights. The Ducklong cafe, about 50m from the hotel, was excellent for breakfast. No hesitation to recommend.
Lovely lunch spot on the canal amongst lots of greenery, very calming with a great atmosphere. Delicious food, very reasonably priced and catering for vegetarians which can be hard to come by in Thailand. The service was excellent with nothing to be desired. Would highly recommend a visit.
My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon and loved it! The hotel is in a great location along the canal. It is quiet, but also a quick walk to Ram Buttri Road and Khao San Road. We ate at the restaurant several times while staying at the hotel. The food was some of the best we had while in Bangkok and we loved the atmosphere. Everything was very reasonably priced too. We would highly recommend the Lamphu Tree House, both the hotel and the restaurant.
Came here for dinner on our first night in Thailand, the staff were absolutely lovely and the food very tasty. Really recommend the spring rolls! Right on the canal with a lovely atmosphere for a few drinks after dinner.
This is a really lovely place to stay close to the Khao San area. To find it you have to cross the road from the roundabout at the top of Rambuttri and cross over a small canal. It's tucked away, quiet and really luxurious compared to the place I was at before. It's a bit more expensive at about $50 a night when I stayed but well worth it if you want a night or two somewhere nicer than the grubby places on Khao San. Recommended.
My friends and me spontaneously passed this sweet spot. It is absolutely lovely near to the river. We were warmly welcomed by the house owner. The Lamphu Tree is a nice place to get some very good local food. You definitely have to try it! On the photo you can see my choice of food: Pad Thai - absolutely recommended!
