What an awesome place. Our room was ready when we checked in at 11am and was perfect. We stayed in a deluxe room which was great especially for the price we paid. The Hotel is 5 minutes walk to Ko Shan road and about a minutes walk to the democracy monument. Check out the roof top area the views are... More

We went here with high hopes after the reviews, I'm sorry but to me it doesn't meet with the hype. The bathroom was fairly poor, the power shower was a dribble. The decor was dark & not that nice, the tiled floor was not that clean, but the bed was comfy enough & had enough in the room to make... More

In my opinion, one of the best locations you can get if you want to visit temples in Bangkok. You can walk to most of the attractions or take the public service boat. Go upstairs to the roof garden for a romantic view of the town. The food was good.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Lamphu tree house. Staf was very friendly and helpful and the rooms were very nice and a perfect value for money. One minor detail: the water in the shower didn't really wash away which resulted in a very wet floor. The swimmingpool is very nice to cool off after a busy sightseeing day... More

I spent hours on trip advisor looking for a hotel in Bangkok for my family. Just like most of you have probably done. The previous reviews and descriptions of this hotel are very accurate. We enjoyed our stay there. We had two nights in July and one more on our way back home in August. We have two kids aged... More

Lamphu Tree Hotel was far and away one of our favorite stays on our second, two month trip to SE Asia. What you are getting for a very reasonable price is: very nice and clean rooms, included breakfast, free wi-fi, a pool, a beautiful roof-top patio, close to Khao San road but not too close, in a quiet area. Really,... More

We stayed here for our first 2 nights in Bangkok. We stayed in a delux room which was smaller than we thought, but still very nicely decorated and very clean. The staff were very helpful and the food in the resturant was great. The pool was lovely and beach towels were provided. There is also a lovely roof top terrace.... More

After reading all the glowing reviews on trip advisor and looking at all the lovely photos on their website, I was a little sceptical. Surely it cannot be THAT good. But after staying there, I reckon it WAS that good. For what I paid to stay there, I got excellent value for money. The place was clean and comfortable (the... More

We stayed for 2 nights at the end of our Thailand holiday. We are a family of 6 and booked at the Lamphu Tree House because of the high ratings on trip advisor and the price. We wanted something comfortable but cheap, and also wanted to be near the grand palace and Koh San Road for the shopping. This place... More

If you are a first timer in Bangkok and you're booked at he Lamphu Tree House, you'll be put off by the location but once you're inside the hotel everything will change. The staff and the service they rendered were excellent. They assisted us in every way. You can even leave your luggages and come back for it without any... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
