Main attractions: comfortable clean hotel with a peaceful pool and garden area that is very welcoming on a hot day after the bustle of the Old City. There are also some very good restaurants within walking distance, including a large traditional one in an old rice barn that has been in business since 1957 and serves many unusual, thoroughly Thai dishes. The evening we were there it was full, mostly families and what looked like business people. Also there is a small place that specializes in BBQ duck noodle soup, that's open only for lunch.
We spent four nights in the old city and four nights at Liam's and feel that that enabled us to experience the best of Chiang Mai.
