We had a short stay at the Chiang Mai Phra Singh village in early March, hotel itself is located at the old town and min walk to the weekend markets, it’s easy access but also quiet. Staff are very friendly and helpful, the restaurant manager remember your egg/coffee preference in the morning even though was nothing big but nice and warm. Because of the Covid-19, the breakfast was not fancy type but good enough, with rotation hot food (Thai noodle soup or congee). The pool is clean and deep enough for swimming, again because of the Covid-19, we didn’t swim this time.
The room we stayed was at the ground floor, it’s spacious and very clean, free minibar and snacks refill everyday, welcome fruit, coffee machine and USB Port. Had a balcony few feet to the neighborhood, we only went out once, you might get better view if stay at the 2nd floor. Bathroom is spacious and clean too, had a bathtub with shower. The only improvement I would say the water pressure of the shower, and the design of the bathtub which the water dribbled along the bathtub to the stairs and floor. It would be a perfect stay if these were fixed.

An amazing and wonderful experience from the first moment we entered until the moment we were dropped off at the airport by the hotel.

The hotel staff is highly educated, extremely skilled, friendly, attentive and wonderful.

The beds are extremely clean, soft and plush.

We stayed in 2 deluxe room which is the lowest standard type of room but it was amazing!

Both rooms were large room, everything was clean and the rooms always smelled wonderfully fresh with the natural scented oils placed in the rooms.

The rooms were quiet and well insulated.

They had multiple electrical wall sockets for both European and American plugs and USB Power socket for iPhones.

The food was excellent!

Room service was amazing and served very late.

Food size for room service dishes were extremely large and extremely affordable.

Bathroom water pressure was very strong and the hot water was very hot and the cold water was very cold.

Overall, the room was immaculate with only a few minor mold spots in the bathroom which is expected in the climate of Thailand.

A wonderful and amazing gem.

Hotel is located directly in the city center within walking distance of many temples and street markets and many local shops to get some wonderful street food.

The Hotel breakfast is large and abundant with wonderful eastern and western dishes.

Highly recommend!

Stayed here for 4 nights with my 86 year old mother and sister. What a gem! The staff were genuinely friendly, polite and helpful. A serene, calming environment from the lovely aroma in the reception area, the free daily 10 minute massages, beautiful swimming pool area (pool a bit too cold for us,) the free afternoon tea (fantastic selection of treats) and the daily cultural activities. There is also a free mini bar in the room, delicious happy hour cocktails (buy 1 get one free.) Tasty breakfast and evening meals with live music at dinner.

Good location as set in Old Town Chang Mai and easy to take a TukTuk or open back taxi (red car) to busier parts of Chang Mai or explore more locally on foot.

Whilst here we also visited the Friends of the Asian Elephant Hospital (separate review) did the Yummy Tasty Cooking class (separate review) and The Bang Tong Hill Tribe Village - all worth visiting.

We would love to return one day. Thank you to all at Phra Singh Village for making us so welcome and taking care of us so well.

The hotel itself is beautiful but the service needs a major upgrade. Despite the lack of tourists and low demands on accommodation it is puzzling to me how subpar and arrogant the service was during our stay especially the reception personnel. None of the beautiful northern style Wai during the check in , not a word of thank you upon checkout. A simple question of “ how was your stay?” would have been nice. Perhaps we are just normal dull skin folks with no fancy clothing compare to those whom they were kowtowed before. There are ample amount of cctv throughout the hotel should they want to dispute my account, if it turn out differently from my account I would go there personally to apologize and compensate them.
One morning during our stay we received a call at 7:30am from the front desk to inform us there is no running water should we want to wash ourselves come down to the lobby and we will be escorted to another building to shower and the mechanics are hard at work fixing the water supply. After several hours and a phone call still no water but this time they came up and apologized also told us that the crisis has been averted and it will take 5 minutes for the water to be refilled but 30 minutes have passed still no water so we ended up using a different room to clean ourselves. The shower/bathtub is impractical also dangerous for an elderly or those who need assistance as you can see from the picture attached. ( Anti-slip pads are provided). Moreover water is spilled all over after shower so be extra careful there.

The parking situation is also difficult since the hotel is situated in chiangmai’s old town so driving there is not the best option.
One saving grace is the maid service. They were more courteous to my elderly mother than those beautiful faces at the lobby. Oh, well...
Their spa , the one we have visited , is also gorgeous, service’s great. Spend a few hours there. You won’t regret it. Complimentary mango sticky rice after the massage is wonderful indeed, although a different type of mango is probably better than the one we had. It’s hard and very tart but that might be just a one time thing.

All in all, with plenty of hotels stand empty all over the city , it’s probably money spent elsewhere.

My wife and I stayed at Phra Singh Village for 6 nights and had a lovely time. Right from the start at our arrival we were given a very warm welcome from Kung and the staff at reception. They made a special effort to get our room ready before the check in time. In the meantime we were invited to take afternoon tea in the garden and to have a shoulder and neck massage.

We had a deluxe room with balcony very tastefully furnished in Thai style. The mini-bar was well stocked and refreshed every day free of charge.

The breakfast buffet was impressive with a wide variety of food and the dining room staff were attentive but not intrusive. With the good weather we enjoyed breakfast in the garden every morning.

The swimming pool was located attractively in a sheltered courtyard. Although the pool water was rather cold it was certainly invigorating.

There was a free massage and afternoon tea every day. In addition there were courses and activities every afternoon. These were also free and included Thai dancing, flower arranging, Thai cooking and making a compress for Thai massage.

The hotel is in a quiet lane and with the well kept gardens and greenery is an oasis for relaxation.

We will always fondly remember the hotel and all the staff and thoroughly recommend a stay here.

We had a wonderful stay at this village hotel. As soon as you walk in the front door you feel at home and the staff are all extremely lovely and attend to your every need. Rooms are very clean and fresh, you get a mini bar with daily bottled water and complimentary drinks on your first night. At the end of the stay they gave us a lovely homemade gift which was a sweet touch. Pool area very nice, areas of shade on a hot day. Air conditioning in the room is good and beds comfy. This hotel is located very close to the Sunday walking market which is a spectacle in itself; absolutely huge and even after COVID it is lovely to see so many tourists and locals out supporting Chiang Mai economy - definitely go here to try street food it is delicious!! The hotel has its own taxi service which was handy and if the taxi was not available the staff are happy to call you a taxi which always arrived promptly. The spa which is located 2 mins across from the hotel is amazing and a must for everyone. We got Thai massage and it was great, very relaxing and welcoming environment. I would recommend this gem to anyone and hope to return in the future. Thank you all for a lovely stay

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we were treated so well. All the staff were extremely pleasant, efficient and professional.

There was a variety of complimentary services which included:
A complimentary mini bar which included: crisps, nuts, chocolate, soft drinks, water and beer. and was replenished every day. A different activity every day eg making a thai herball compress, Every day there was the opportunity to have a head and shoulder massage. Roselle juice, drinking water and rice cakes available all day. An afternoon tea was served which included local deserts, cakes and some savoury items.

The staff in this establishment are truly ambassadors for The Land of Smiles.

We stayed at Phra Singh Village during our time in Chiang Mai and I have so many incredible things to say about the property.

The staff was outstanding and helpful with anything we needed. They even have free 10-minute massages in the lobby each day! In addition, there’s complementary afternoon tea and snacks, as well as a complementary mini bar in the room.

On top of that, the property itself is stunning!! In the perfect location that’s on a side road so you don’t get any road noise.

The only con of the property is that the balconies face the side of other buildings, which was fine with us!

We picked Phra Singh Village at the last moment due to a cancelled flight to Hanoi forcing us to change destination. We hadn't done much research so weren't sure how good this place would be. we needn't have worried. The place is excellent. Room (deluxe with balcony) very well appointed and spacious. Queen-sized bed one of the most comfortable we have ever experienced. Pool and grounds are quite small but overall we would throughly recommend. Staff are so friendly, attentive and helpful. When we checked in we were asked if we had any dietary needs. I mentioned that I am vegetarian. Today when I came down for breakfast the restaurant manager was straight over to greet us saying that the chef was looking forward to cooking me a special breakfast. i hadn't asked (and anyway there was plenty stuff I could have eaten) but this type of service is difficult to beat. Location-wise it is ideal, situated within the old city and close to many shops, bars and restaurants. There are also free snacks, afternoon tea and complimentary minibar. Can't go wrong here. Wish we could have stayed longer.

I was here in November with a friend and we fell in love upon arrival. The hospitality upon arrival was fantastic- lavender lei, tea, 10 min neck massages and the warm hospitality of the staff really stood out. Our room was big, comfy beds & great products in the shower including the robes & lotions. Also, we loved the freebie mini bar items! The breakfast food was delicious as were the beverages in the lobby throughout the day and mid afternoon snack. I would come here again if visiting Chiang Mai!
