Staff helpful but bathrooms are out on the verandah so you have to open the door go outside into the bathroom. When door is open then all the mosquitoes come in. Across the road is a lady who washed your hair and blowdrys it straight for only 80 bht she does a great job so we always tipped her she...

Very spacious clean rooms with TV and very nice and helpful staff. Free tea and coffee available in reception. The bathroom is accessed via the balcony which I wasn't too keen on but was clean, a good size and perfectly functional. However the location was a bit too far out from the centre for me. It was walkable but took...

While Penny's place is located outside of the walls of the old city and so is a little bit of a distance from town I cannot recommend it enough. Taxi's and tuk tuks are readily available for around 100baht and the distance is even walkable. Plus the benefits of Penny's Place more than make up for this minor inconvenience to...

We stayed here for 3 nights in October 2011 during our time in Chiang Mai. I can't speak highly enough of this place. - The rooms were very reasonably priced. They were very clean and all of the utilities (hot water, A/C, refridgerator, etc.) worked great. - There was free, very fast, Wi-Fi in the room. - There is also...

My friends and I found Penny’s Place on trip advisor. Rooms are super clean, spacious, bright and quiet. Staffs are nice and friendly, who also speak perfect English. When we need their advices about sightseeing, shopping and massage, they always recommend us the best values. Even Penny’s Place is not in the old city, it is good for the travellers...

We chose Penny's because we wanted to stay a bit away from the tourist hordes and liked that it was not in the old city. We were fine with walking into town and we rented a motorbike for next to nothing a few of the days we were here, which made getting around a breeze. What we didn't realize is...

We've been traveling Thailand for 6 months now and this place has been the nicest place we've stayed at AND the cheapest. It's not right by the walled city but if you have nothing but time (like us) you won't mind the 20 minute walk or the 7 minute cab ride. The staff is extremely nice and welcoming and there's...

“This is probably not a great hotel for Parents with young children as all rooms are standard size with no interconnecting doors. Some floors are airconned and others are fanned. It does book up quickly so large groups need to book.”

“Rooms facing disco/record shop are noisy from about 10-10. Don't be dismayed by individual bathrooms entered via the small balcony; they worked out great.”
