My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights during the annual flower festival. We booked the Lanna rustic tree house. This is a 2 bed 2 bath deal, and I chose it, even though we were just 2 people, because it was the only room left when I made the reservation. Pros: -Adisak (Adi), Ms. Ohn, and the Baan... More

We loved Baan Boo Loo. It was great to be just steps from the city and yet in a secluded area of natural surroundings. The people are wonderful...kind, warm and very accommodating. Be sure to take advantage of the cooking class. Choose what you want to make, go to the market and select your fresh food and make it step... More

We came as a family of 4; children ages 7+8. We have had a wonderful stay. Other travellers have described the accommodation. We were looking for nice, comfortable, but above all authentic (so the children could learn something). What we got exceeded our expectations. Rooms were lovely for sleeping, spacious, cool. But the joy is in the feeling that you... More

We staying at BaanBooLoo for four nights in November last year. The setting is fantastic, close to many sites and the Guest Houses are beautiful. We managed to try two of the guest houses each with it's own own character and style - we loved them both. The BaanBooLOo is such a relaxed place to spend time - my only... More

Baanbooloo makes you feel at home in an amazing way: Orn, Adisak and the whole team took so good care of us, arranged our trips, helped us with postcards, washings and even cooked special tees and soups to cure my cold and shared the Thai knowledge of healing herbs and spices. You are allowed to use all facilities such as... More

BaanBooLOo was one of four hotels we enjoyed during our recent trip to Thailand. We had the pleasure of spending four nights in this urban oasis. This was the least expensive place we stayed, but the MOST personal attention and culturally rewarding experience of our entire trip. For comparison, we splurged $1200/night at Six Senses Samui, which was obviously very... More

Arriving in Chang Mai without any reservations for accommodations was all part of our plan (or lack there of), and having previously read reviews and speaking with a couple we know who had stayed at BaanBooLOo in the past we knew it would be worth checking out. Alas, after checking online we saw that they were pretty well booked up,... More

We recently stayed at BaanBooLoo for the whole of our trip to Chiang Mai province (11 days). The food was exquisite - cooked by Orn and her staff - and the ambience of the traditional Thai rooms (with open air bath & shower) set the scene for an authentic Thai experience. On our last day Orn and Adi lit a... More

A peaceful and beautiful setting about a stone's throw from some of the busiest attractions in Chiang Mai makes this B&B a rare find. The owner and staff were well-informed, friendly and eager to make the trip as enjoyable and easy as possible for us. Among other things, they arranged for transport, massages, suggested places to eat and shop and... More

Wonderful experience both in terms of the peace and quietness as on the scenery and accommodation. Baan Boo Loo is a great traditional stay in a city that has been overtaken by tourist eager entrepreneurs and international brands.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A unique small Thai country village style guesthouse with surrounding wooden villas, hammocks, country garden, outdoor lounges with lots of arts and wood carvings. Visitors should be aware that this is a very natural setting. There are many kinds of creatures in the gardens Some bathrooms are semi open air and mosquitos are omnipresent as in the most part of Chiang Mai. We use mosquito netting in bedrooms as well as using air-conditioning, fans and mosquito repellents and creams free of charge. Guests are advised to wear loose fitting clothing with long sleeves and leg coverings in the early mornings and early evenings or to use a good strength anti mosquito spray. Sunny daytimes are mostly mosquito free. Hard to believe but BaanBooLOo Village seems completely cut off from the noise of the city centre yet is only 15 minutes from Chiang Mai International Airport. It is without question the quietest location in all of central Chiang Mai. We are in the central historic Old City Inner Moat area just 5 minutes walk from the major landmark Wat Pra Singh temple known by all in Chiang Mai. We provide a comprehensive and hearty Thai and International breakfast from 7am until 10am. We do cater for early start breakfasts and special dietary needs. Guests are recommended to discuss any special needs upon check-in. We have a quiet policy after 10pm as these are wooden houses and respect for neighbours is paramount. We also have an outdoor late lounge area with music and drinks until around midnight which is separate from guest rooms to avoid sleep disturbance. There are late night bars, jazz club and eateries all within 20 minutes walk or a short tuk tuk ride for around 100 baht. Most venues are open until around 1am. A handful are open until the early hours. Our concierge service includes helping guests to plan activities/spas/trekking plus advice on events in and around the city. This service is impartial and is included in the room charge. We would never recommend tourist service companies with animal cruelty reputations. BaanBooLOo Village is a 'green' environmentally friendly organisation evolving gradually. Our long term goal is to create a green oasis in the form of a living museum in the historic old city walls. ... more   less
