Yes, this hotel is the most charming, gorgeous, peaceful, historic hotel—the list could go on and on. Whatever positive reviews you’ve read about 137 Pillars House, they’re true. The dining areas, the bar, the pool, the garden—it’s all so very, very beautiful. The food shines, too, both at breakfast and dinner. We first stayed there several years ago, and were... More

Incredibly beautiful resort/hotel located in a lovely, quiet part of Chiang Mai that is just a 15 min walk to all the action. There is a beautiful pool and the grounds are just stunning. The breakfast is delicious. The best part was probably the old Thai-style house that is at the center of the property. This is where breakfast is.... More

Stayed at 137 Pillars House when we were in Chiang Mai for 4 nights in early November. The hotel is located close enough to the main stopping areas but far enough so it's a quiet retreat after a long day of site seeing. The grounds are gorgeous, the rooms are well appointed and the service is outstanding. The bed and... More

This hotel is even better than in the pictures. It is one of the nicest and unique hotels I have ever stayed at. It was like an oasis in the city, when you entered the hotel you felt like you were instantly relaxed in this beautiful setting. The design of the hotel/grounds was modern yet incorporated traditional aspects such as... More

This 30 room boutique hotel is very beautiful and well run. The staff simply cannot do enough to help and endeavour to make your stay truly memorable. You are even allocated a butler...... We were only sorry that we really did not have much for Toto to do. The hotel was converted from a stunning tea house which used to... More

Possibly my favourite hotel. This is such a delightful, relaxing place to stay with a unique feel to it. It was built in 1889 to house the manager of the British East Borneo Company & is named after the number of pillars originally in the house (it has a little museum under the main central building explaining its history). There... More

Beautiful hotel with attention to details in its design and service, making it beautiful as well as comfortable and practical to stay in. For example, the pool area seems to be cooled by air con vents, making it pleasant to hang around even in the heat of the day. The thoughtful services of a personal butler was impressive. Pui was... As another reviewer said - believe the reviews, it really is that good. 137 Pillars House is a destination in itself- while we still ventured out to visit Elephant Nature Park and the city's other sights, this gem and the gorgeous pool was hard to leave. We were greeted upon our arrival by Toto, who said he'd be our butler... More
