In a Soi with a number of authentic pizza restaurants, I made the mistake to eat at this place. All I received was a tiny processed pizza, straight out of the freezer and defrosted in a microwave.. My allegedly Hawaiian pizza had crab sticks on it and was barely recognizable as food. The mini pizzas in 7_11 taste better. The french fries were worse! So sorry to the other authentic pizza places surrounding this one ! At least I could drown it in tomato sauce to kill the taste, as obviously, they have never heard of Olive oil, basil, oregano or pepper corns. Avoid at all costs!!!!

I didn’t stay at the hostel, but I went to the restaurant to eat after a long day motorbiking to Doi Inthanon National Park and back. The food was excellent and the waitress happy and pleasant. No issues at all, apart for the cockroaches running around the street nearby, but a flip-flop sorted them out - not the restaurants fault might I add. I was the only one in the restaurant so it was nice and relaxing.

It is located in Old Chiang Mai, within walking distance of all sites. Rooms. The rooms were large and spacious. However, the owners seem to have a bad interior designer, having got the walls painted in dark blue and the flooring in dark brown tiles making the room look smaller and leaving little scope for upgrading the property to a star standard if required without extensive expenditure. The sink was located in the room and not the toilet occupying space. The toilets were clean, but small with a WC and a shower. WiFi. It worked very well for us. No complaints. Staff. The entire staff, from front office to kitchen and Housekeeping was good. They knew operational level of English. We had limited interaction with some of them due to their duty hours, but I would specially like to mention Sukanya, who guided my wife through all her requirements, understanding a visitors needs and displaying exceptional knowledge on how to meet them at the lowest possible rates. I would also mention that the lady in charge of Housekeeping was also clued up on the guest requirement. Location. In Central Chiang Mai, it had all the places to eat and see close to it. It also had an old style market within 300 meters. If you wish to cook Thai food at home when you go back, buy the Ingredients here. It is 30% of the cost of Bangkok. Connectivity to the entire township was never a problem. Breakfast. Three sets of breakfast available. All of them were quite good. Restaurant. The property has a restaurant with a limited menu. However, what they put up was good. The meals were served in the front veranda overlooking the street where one could watch the monks (early morning) and the world go by. Beer is available on the property.

Absolutely friendly and helpful staff. The room was really nice, as well as tidy and clean. Chiang Mai is very peaceful and lovely - even though there is no ocean around, there’s still the pool! I had an awesome stay.

One of the most impressive things I have ever seen in a hotel... They charge 100 bahts per extra pillow that you order. I have booked through booking.com, and placed a request for 2 extra pillows, due to a condition with my back. Upon arrival, there weren't any extra pillows. Later on I requested them, and after a few minutes, the receptionist came with the information about the extra charge. 2nd thing : I selected as a filter "hotels with a pool", however I failed to read that they charge per day, for the use of the pool. And the pool ia actually at another building. My room is of a fair size, no wardrobe, no safe, no minibar (that's all ok, it was very cheap). It's right next to the breakfast room, so imagine the noise in the morning. Besides, I can never open the curtains, as everyone could see my room. Terrible lighting in the room. It's way too dark. The service at the desk was welcoming and friendly. They have let me in to my room a couple of hours before check-in time. Location is great, many massage parlours, small restaurants, shops, nearby.

We stayed here last year in a standard room which was nice, so we upgraded to a comfort room this year. Spacious, clean and good working airco. The hotel has a great location: local fresh market, 7/11, restaurants, pharmacy and so on all around the corner. The only downside: the bed is kind of hard. I would book this hotel every time!

This is a 2 part review. First the room - I stayed in private room with a friend on first floor. It was noisy in the morning, there was mold in the bathroom that was noticeable and an overall musty feeling/smell to the room. Bed had ants on it. We stayed one night (which is all we booked) before moving. (our friends stayed in a similar room on a higher floor, had no issues and had a bigger nice room so could be worth staying just ask for higher floor) Second, I initially booked for the wrong month (my fault). But the girl at check in told me to cancel and rebook. So i did, there was a cancel fee for September when it was January. Then she tells me of you shouldn't have cancelled you should have just told me and we can change dates. I've now sent multiple emails through booking.com and to the hostel directly asking them to waive the cancel penalty and there has been NO response at all. What AWUL service.

I recently booked this hotel through Expedia for 2 nights. This included breakfast for two days. The same deal was available on Booking. Long story short, the hotel refused to serve us breakfast even though I showed them my reservation. They just told me that I had only the room booked. I had to call Expedia and have them email and call the hotel to tell the hotel I did indeed have breakfast as part of my room. By this time breakfast time was over....We ended up loosing breakfast because the management refusal to serve us. The second day they just served it to us but did not apologize or even acknowledge the previous day incident. Ignoring a situation just makes it so much worse. A simple apology would have been enough. I just think giving a customer what they booked should be part of the management's response to a situation like this, not refusing us and embarrassing us for a mistake made by them. Not only did this leave a bad taste but it made us move hotels and not extend our stay for 4 more days. Some good customer service pays off much more than a pancake and a cup of instant coffee, hence this review. Too bad for this hotel as the room was big, comfy and clean. Wanted to thank the cleaning ladies for being super nice and friendly. I think they should maybe be promoted to management instead, they know how to treat others much better.

I've stayed here several times now and think the LaMer is a good value, in a good location near a fruit market and surrounded by many restaurants and coffee houses. There are things to recommend it: the staff is friendly, always with a smile. I like the floor tiles in the room. The better rooms are on the higher floors, and have views of the mountains; although the bathrooms are smaller on the third floor, and on a hot day I don't think I'd want to hike the stairs (there's no elevator.) The place could be a bit cleaner, but for the money it's a good value. The first floor has rooms that look out to a driveway, and I'd not be comfortable opening the horribly tacky curtains (other than the curtains, the place has a nice design touch.) On the first floor the bathroom sinks have an annoying shelf above them that makes it near impossible to wash your face or brush your teeth. There's seating out front, but in the afternoon there's no shade there. The wi-fi is hit or miss (mostly miss) and has an annoying way of shutting off and requiring you to reenter the user name and password. One good thing is that guests can use the pool at the hotel next-door for only 100 Baht. My biggest complaint is the the only blankets provided are too heavy—the air-conditioning doesn't go low enough to need that heavy a comforter and I was uncomfortable all night; throwing the comforter off because I was too hot and then constantly trying to lower the air-conditioning so that I could use it.
