Stayed here for three days and had a great time. We were in a nice quiet part but still near enough to the night bazaar and old city to not feel too isolated. Rooms were great, equiptnwith with fans and air con. Wifi was a bit unreliable but it wasn't that much of an incovenience. Staff were super friendly and...

Galare Guesthouse is beautifully set on the bank of the Ping River. The guesthouse is clean and simple. Great quiet setting away from the old city, 5 min tuktuk ride. Staff was very helpful arranging tours and giving great spa recommendations.

We stayed here for 4 nights, friendly helpfull staff. Cheap restaurant with great choice of food. Close to famous night market, Sunday market and a brilliant restaurant called riverside. Best rate to drop off at airport as well at end of our trip.

The rooms were clean, fairly large. The best part of this hotel is the location - just a 5 minute walk to the night market and a 15 minute walk to the old city. Despite the fact that it is right in the middle of town, once you get on the property its very quiet and calm. The food at...

We enjoyed a 2 night stay in May, 2013. I would describe the rooms as clean, but a little rough around the edges. Considering the value it was to be expected. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is an on sight restaurant that was convenient. We only had breakfast there a couple of times. Reasonably priced and good. There...

We are currently in Chiang Mai, staying at the Galare Guest House. Rooms are very clean, bed is comfortable, AC is great. Bathroom is small but adequate. This is definitely an older style guest house (a friend of mine stayed here 35 years ago), but it is clean, and in a great location if you want to be near the...

The rooms are nice, spacious and clean, staff is friendly and we stayed there off season, i.e. it wasn't really expensive. It takes around 30 minutes to walk to the lovely center of Chiang Mai. It's got a cute little garden and in the restaurand is right next to the river. The down side: It's really noisy since it's close...

This is the best hotel room I have ever stayed in while backpacking. It is $30/night so if this fits in your budget come here! The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the restaurant is right on the river with some of the best food we have had and is fairly priced. The room is spacious and spotless and...

Loved this place. Great location outside old city and on the Ping River. They have a restaurant that serves really good food too! Night market is within walking distance. I enjoyed walking most places, so this location was great. Also, they offer Thai Massage. They provide taxi, was a little concerned as I had no idea where they were taking...

Feel lucky to have discovered this very comfortable place while in Chiang Mai. Initially we planned to stay 1 night then head to Pai but upon checking in we decided to stay another night and in the end stayed 4 nights. The guesthouse has a very cosy layout. The room was fairly big and very comfortable. Staff great. Restaurant also...
