I spent a few days in this hotel to explore Doi Inthanon. It is at the bottom of the mountain, so going in the mountain you have to pay fee, and foreigners pay several times more than local Thais. Having said that, it is still not much and the mountain is really worth visiting. The hotel itself is quite old... More

My visit to Doi Inthanon meant that it was best if I stayed somewhere close to the National Park. This hotel was one of several with fairly good write-ups so I decided to give it a try. I stayed for three nights and apart from the last morning, was the only guest. Apparently it was full every weekend so I... More

Chomthong is my home town but now I live in Germany with my husband. We stayed here with my husband and his family in Feb. 2015 at the recommendation of my mom and my sister, who lived in Chomthong near by Doi Inthanon National park. The resort is simply gorgeous and many trees. the service is excellent. The buffet breakfast,... More

Stayed at the touch star on the way back from Mae Hong Son. We wanted to visit Doi Inthanon the next day. There are few places to stay close to the mountain except for a few near the Hill tribe farm market and the park Facilities area and they are pretty rough and pricey. Stumbled into Touch Star Resort late... More

The Resort is quite far out from the city but near the elephant camp and mountains in Chiang Mai. I believe the hotel once had a pool but it’s no longer in use, now it resembles a pond. I love the individual cottage look-a-like rooms though. It gives it a nice cozy touch to it The rooms we got were... More

1500 baht per night for a nice room though a little grubby. Perhaps 750 baht might be a fair price. 200 baht for a shocking breakfast! Cold congealed fried eggs, cold fried rice, cold fried potatoes etc. Offered to "warm up" the eggs when we complained! Staff pleasant but clueless on western breakfast. Basically a huge rip off.

The hotel grounds and room were well maintained. The only noise was from the local resident insects, which we found pleasant. The location was both good and bad. It was good because it was just outside the national park so we had quick access for our day trips and could see much more than if we had started from Chiang... More

A stop over before ascending to the peak of Thailand. Minimalist concept, blankets and pillow definitely inadequate for our 11degreeC night. Food is great and inexpensive for foreigners. I'll suggest you bring your own entertainments for the evening as the programmes on TV are all in Thai. Definitely not the best place for reading books as lightings are just too... More
