First the negatives, the wifi is awful, really really awful, the bed is very very hard and uncomfortable, but the positives are many, the location is excellent right next to the moat, the rooms are very large and clean, the staff are pleasant enough, the aircon works well, there's a balcony with a sink that's great for making snacks or...

Great little hotel about a 10/15 min walk from the lively part of Chiang Mai. Room was clean and spacious. Staff were helpful and friendly. For the amount you can pay I think this is a great little hotel close enough to most things around.

In my opinion the hotel is good. The location is not far from old town or Sunday market or even Warorot market and Night bazaar. If you just want to stay here you can call for walk in rates which is cheaper. Good to try!

Royal Panerai is great value for money the staff are friendly and helpful. They upgraded my room for one night of my stay which was nice. I found it to be clean. Was happy with my stay, would stay again because of the price, some people have said its outdated. Which is true enough. The tv was not flat screen...

The hotel is dated. That is obvious when you see the hotel and the rooms. But everything is clean an functional. The rooms are big (35 sqm ) and the service is ok. We had during our 4 week stay ask for towels or toilet paper once in a while when the cleaning service forgot to supply it. The location...

As others have said previously the outside is very impressive! The reception area is also quite grand! The staff on check in were friendly and helpful. The rooms are starting to look quite dated but are always clean with fresh bedding/towels. You cant really complain for the price! Location is a bit of a walk but then it gives you...

Upon arrival at the Royal Panerai Hotel, we were excited/relieved at how nice our last minute booking was: grand-looking exterior, a small pond in the front, a proper lobby, etc. However the room itself was really dated and not very nice - towels had ragged ends, bedsheets seemed clean but old, toilet was old (ie. yellow-y patches on the seat),...

This hotel is good value for money, only costs around £14 GBP for the night. No breakfast provided but it's a very short walk into the old town and there are plenty of cafes/restaurants near by. Not far either to the night markets. The rooms were nice, however the hotel doesn't have much else to offer. Perfect for budget travelling!

A week at the Royal Panerai was reasonable, but that was mostly on the financial front. It was inexpensive, but felt a bit out of the way from the old city in Chiang Mai. Luckily, there was a couple of restaurants and a decent bar nearby. Getting to the old city gate (Thapae Road) was about a 15 minute walk...
