Non residents are allowed to take HIgh Tea and in view of the standing of the hotel the offering should be of excellent standard. Regrettably that was not the case. The tea was served to the table from an extremely small teapot but the food was presented in buffet help yourself style. On arrival there was only one finger sandwich...

Disclaimer: All services provided to me and my fellow backpackers were complementary. They allowed us to stores our heavy bags in their store during the day for free (which is not normal but when a bunch of backpackers rock up at 5am having come off a 6 hour night bus, I feel they took welcomed pity on us) so we...

It's been over 1 month since 7 friends and I had eagerly awaited Christmas Eve dinner at the Dalat Palace Hotel's "Le Rabelais" Restaurant. Despite the cost of about US$100 per person, we made reservations several days in advance after looking at what seemed to be a great menu: 1. Pumpkin soup with king prawn 2. Foie gras with artichoke...

This was our last hotel after spending over a week in Vietnam, and what a disappointment. The bathroom has a tub and telephone handle shower, which, despite having the shower curtain pulled, resulted in the floor getting soaked (water ran down between the wall and the bathtub edge). This was after the floor had been totally flooded due to leaking...

It is true, the hotel needs a bit more TLC from its management, maintenance and eye for detail is lacking. Taking a shower makes the floor wet, the winds make the window panels tremble, the breakfast buffet is not very exciting. However the charm of the hotel is still there, the building and the room are nice and a guarantee...

Dalat Palace Hotel was built by the French in the early 1920 on top of a hill overlooking the lake; The hotel remains on the same place, hence, provides a majestic view of the lake. The hotel has been slight remodeled (inside) but lacks the "nowadays" convenience found in a room. So, if you want something modern then Dalat Palace...

1 turkey and one roast beef for the whole night is not sufficient for 50+ guests is not good enough for 1.2++ million VND. No drinks included bar a small welcome drink. Atmosphere and service was good and maybe could be a little better for a 5* hotel.

Faded grandeur. Impressive location and beautiful gardens. But cold sausages at breakfast, random call in middle of the night on room phone, sash window with rotten frame which nearly took my fingers off when I tried to open it. For the price it should have been much better.
