I booked this on line and compared to other hotels we stayed at in Vietnam this was the worst for the price range. As soon as we walked in they wanted to sell us tours rather than just checking us in. The reception staff then took over 20 minutes to check us is. White cotton blankets dirty. After asking twice...

Stayed at the Astoria for a week towards the end of October 2010. Great location and lovely, friendly, staff. Lan and her assistant were great in arranging tours and one of the young men who worked there even took me on his scooter to catch up with a tour. The cooked breakfasts made by the young lady were really tasty!...

We stayed here for a couple of days. The room was good, staff very friendly and helpfull, though pushy over booking a tour. In our opinion we were overcharged for the Halong Bay trip (payed a lot more than other people that got the same boat and an even better hotel).

Me and my partner stayed for 5 days in april 2009 in a deluxe room, which was fine. We enjoyed staying in the Astoria. The staff was always very nice and helpfull. Booked some excellent (also fair priced) trips from the hotel. They offered good breakfasts every day. M.C. Buddingh' (Amsterdam, The Netherlands)
