We spent five nights at the Essence Hanoi Hotel & Spa This place was awesome. It has a terrific location, right in the heart of the Old Quarter. Our stay was further enhanced with very caring, polite & helpful staff on hand to be of assistance. All of the rooms I have stayed in are calm, airy, and very clean and have a sense of space, each with their own balcony and bathroom facilities. The hotel offers a fantastic breakfast. Breakfast and all-day dining is available daily and includes continental and Asian options. Beautiful freshly ground coffee! Wonderful dinner and lunch menus! The Chef and kitchen available all day. Lots of fresh local produce & local specialties. It was the second time I have stayed at the Essence Hanoi, having regularly travelled to Vietnam for work and pleasure. The perfect location of the Hotel has enabled me to walk to many locations and at night be in the heart of evening street food. I can not wait to return.…

Unfortunately due to Covid we had to cancel our reservation. The hotel was extremely helpful in facilitating our refund. Due to some banking mistakes there were problems with the refund process. It was all sorted out and the entire deposit was transferred to our account. I would like to personally thank Mrs. Vuong who was incredibly patient and diligent in handling our refund. She worked tirelessly during this time ( even when the hotel and banks were closed ). It is people like her that give hotels such a great reputation. Thanks Mrs. Vuong, we will thank you in person when we finally get to Vietnam. Anthony and Ursula

This hotel has been fantastic during the COVID-19 situation. Unfortunately our trip was cancelled. However when I contacted the hotel, they immediately organised a full refund without any issues at all. I will definitely be rebooking with them in the future.

Great staff and service from the minute you check in. Restaurant service is excellent and delicious food. Room attendants are incredibly thorough and extremely helpful whenever you need extra towels, etc. Love the service I received here and location is superb! Will certainly give them my business again and again!! Thank you especially to Jack, Kate and Steve for looking after me!!

This is in the heart of Hanoi’s Old Quarter with all its sights, sounds, street food and activity. If you are staying on the weekend, I suggest a balcony room because there is an amazing street view! The hotel restaurant is excellent, the staff very nice, and the hotel is clean and nicely decorated. You are within walking distance of Ho Hoan Kiem lake where they shut down the streets to cars on the weekend and it is fun atmosphere – the walk around the lake was beautiful. We took a food street tour of the Old Quarter from here and was not disappointed – amazing food. I highly recommend this hotel!

I had to exchange Malaysian Ringgits and the hotel manager suggested I go to a money exchange about 1/2 block away with great rates. They will exchange all currencies.

Essence Hotel does not have rooftop pool, but our sister hotel named Peridot Grand has a RoofTop Pool which is ready in the coming few weeks.
