We stayed two nights before and after Halong Bay cruise, booked throug our travel agent who suggested this hotel, in a superior room. A good hotel if you are on a budget. Large comfortable bed, clean room, free wifi. Great breakfast and nice friendly staff. Short walk to a good range of shop and restarants.

My husband and I planned to stay four nights but ended up staying nine. Before finding Joseph's Hang Da Hotel, we looked at 10 or more other places and this was by far the cleanest, most spacious and comfortable looking hotel we could find. For people on a bit of a tight budget like us, it can seem expensive at... More

My wife and I spent approximately three weeks at both the Joseph's on Au Trieu near the church and at Joseph's Hang Da Hotel. Both were very pleasant experiences. The Kiwi manager, Brian, and his helpful, knowledgeable staff took care of everything from calling taxis to ordering take away meals to eat in our room. Our rooms were spacious, light... More

Good place to stay if you're in town for a few days. Super friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast, try the pancakes. Close to some of the best street food haunts in town. Would definitely return.

I was fortunate to read a news article about this place online as I was researching accommodation options in Hanoi. Having lived in Asia for nearly 10yrs, somehow Vietnam had alluded any previous itinerary, so I decided upon a trip taking in Hanoi, Halong Bay, train to Nha Trang and then train onward to HCMC. Hanoi being the 1st stop,... More

I stayed at both the cathedral and the hang da location both rooms clean and breakfast delightful. The best part was they arranged easy airport transfer for a small fee. The even better part was that the cathedral location was booked up for the extra night I wanted it so they actually moved my bags for me to the other... More

We stayed 4 nights, and had a great experience! The staff were very friendly and helpful, always smiling. The Vietnamese breakfasts were sooo good! AC worked perfectly, shower had good water pressure, and beds were comfortable. Wifi better in lobby but ok in room. I will stay here again when I come back to Hanoi.

I have been here few times living between Vietnam and Cambodia and stay there at every Hanoi visit. The location is good, not right in the center but well located in a busy area of the town. It is easy access. The general atmosphere is peaceful, you feel relax and de-stress easily. The rooms are clean, comfortable. I like the... More

“Wifi was really good. I used it to teach for up to 6 hours every day via Skype and had no problems. Go to the place across the road for the famous fish dish and one of the beer places on the corner. Brian is always happy to recommend places to eat or grab a coffee. It feels a bit like staying at your uncle's place.”
