We fell in love with Vietnam and stayed at many lovely hotels during our two-week stay there, but the Metropole is by far our favorite! It combines historic elegance with warm, personal service; a comfortable room with Asian decor and modern amenities; an excellent (and pricey) Vietnam Restaurant across the courtyard; and a spectacular daily breakfast buffet with both Asian... Just went for a drink and snack at the Bsmboo Bar. Had beers and a few bits to eat. Good range of food and generous portions. Nice place with lots of of history. Charlie Chaplin spent his honeymoon at this place for Gods sake. Loved it. Worth a visit even if you are not staying.

This is a very very gorgeous hotel. I can't say enough. The staff is incredibly professional, remembering our name as we came and went. The lobby is beautiful. The dining rooms are beautiful. The rooms/suites are beautiful, with flowers and water bottles in silk bags waiting for us. The "Do Not Disturb" sign for the rooms is a beautiful inscribed... More

I have been traveling for 3 weeks and this is the first hotel that understood if I was allergic to feather pillows, then I needed the feather comforter changed too. Staff greeted you with French such as, "Bonjour, Madame." They were eager to please their guests. Rooms were spacious and grounds were being decorated for Christmas. There are choices of... More

This hotel is exceptional on so many levels. From the bell service and greeting at the door to the room quality and additional services offered to guests who leave the hotel for single or multi-night tours to Halong Bay, Sapa etc. Occupying its own triagular block in old town Hanoi, you have the choice of the new or old wing.... My wife and I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights on our arrival in Hanoi. The hotel is perfectly situated for the centre of the city without being noisy. It is built to resemble the French colonial style and is really impressive. We were greeted warmly by all the staff over the 2 night stay. They were all very... More

Stayed 3 nights recently at the Opera Wing's Grand Premium room with Club Metropole benefits. Luxurious & spacious room with Hermes toiletries. We had the international buffet breakfast at Club Lounge, Le Beaulieu (French restaurant) & Spices Garden (Vietnamese restaurant) on each different morning & they were all excellent. The afternoon tea & evening cocktails at the Club Metropole were... More

My husband and I picked this hotel because of its great reviews and its ease to getting around by foot. From the time we got there till the time we left everything was great. We had exotic fruit in the room when we got there and the room was spacious with everything we needed. The minibar had drinks and snacks... More
