Very unclean , bathroom toilet not clean, bathroom toilet always blocks. Service in restaurant not so good. However one waiter called Shobuz was very attentive and welcoming. Breakfast was the worst I’ve ever had. The choice was limited, and their were ants all over the tea and coffee section, we told the waiter about it but he didn’t care to clean the ants away!
The good point was the bed, it was amazing mattress. I had the best sleep.

I arrived Dhaka on 11 August 2020 and am staying at Asia Hotel and Resorts. The hotel is having few customers due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It is located near all Bangladesh Government Ministries including my office, Centre on Integrated Rural Development in Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP). The hotel is 3 star hotel. People are very nice with good services. I have been here for 21 days already. I would recommend this hotel in case you are going for meeting with Governments during this pandemic due to its nearby location. In the future, when the mass rapid transit construction is completed, the area will be less traffic.

The experience with Asia Hotel and Resorts was exceptional. The staffs were friendly and their service was great. The food items were properly cooked and the breakfast buffet that comes with the booked room was exceptional!
The room wasn’t sound proof, so that’s a downer. Also, the way to the hotel is a bit jam packed as metro rail construction is going on.
Their room service is swift and the housekeeping did a nice job! Overall the experience was excellent. Good value for money!

Chose this hotel because I wanted to stay closer to the historical center of Dhaka for my first time in Bangladesh. The room was not great. It was dated, lots of damage to the wall and it smelled like cigarette smoke in the first room I stayed in. When they changed it, the room didn’t have too much of cigarette smell.. but there was still traces of it. The WiFi did not work well.

Positives of this hotel is that the staff are very friendly especially in the restaurant. The breakfast was amazing out of all the hotels I stayed in Bangladesh.

Overall, I would not return to this hotel next time I’m in Dhaka. For those seeking accommodations with international standards, I recommend the Dhanmodi area as well as Gulshan and Banani.

We stayed more than twice at this hotel and loved every bit of it. From breakfast buffet to in room dining services, gym, reception, and security - all are up to the mark. Also, their staffs are super friendly and polite. The location is also perfect to commute to and from many places.

I was in Dhaka for a business trip; this was my first visit to Bangladesh. The hotel and its staff made me feel totally at home and helped me with all my travel needs.
The rooms are spacious, beds very comfortable. The rooms are cleaned meticulously every day, and complimentary bottled water is provided every day too. The wi-fi works well most of the time; it was even possible to make Skype calls.
The restaurant is good and open 24 hours; really convenient when arriving late!
The surprise extras are the small but cute gym, and the really nice spa where you can get a super massage.
The hotel offers a car rental service and has a tie-up with an external provider too, so that chauffeured cars are always available.
But the best part are the staff. Every one of them is smart, friendly, helpful and really wonderful. Thank you so much Shamim, Arif, Shraboni, Farha, Manohar, Azam and all the others too! Look forward to meeting you again.

The hotel is well kept and well secured, and is quite well priced (although I was a bit annoyed by the 10% service tax + 15% VAT which makes the lower than usual prices seem a little deceiving). The room was comfortable and basic, although the shower was a little bit dodgy (not a fan of the lack of a bathtub/private shower) and was a bit gross overall. The wifi works well but not fast enough to stream any videos.

The restaurant was well maintained and the food both tasty and well priced for dinner. Breakfast in the morning could have been a bit more diverse (only Bengali dishes, not basic Western dishes/continental options available). In addition, the minibar fridge was completely empty when I checked into the room.

In any case, I would describe it as a solid hotel and would have gladly given it 3.5* if the option had been available. However, it still needs work in some key fundamental areas to achieve the maximum standard that it is capable of reaching.

Stayed for two nights. A pleasant stay at a reasonable price. The staff was friendly and helpful. Had problem with my key card and they solved it right away. The resturant and food is great too. Would stay again.

I stayed 6 days at this 3 star hotel with a friend in 2 separate rooms. I wish I never had. Here's why:

1. Rooms. We had booked standard rooms. Booking.com mentioned that the rooms were fitted either with a bathtub or a shower. Upon chech-in, we were both assigned a room with a 1 star like shower i.e. with no separation with the rest of the bathroom so that it would be flooded every time we showered. We therefore both asked for another room and were told that all standard rooms had the same shower. Therefore the room description on Booking.com was misleading. In similar circumstances, any hotel in the world would have provided a free upgrade -not Asia. They asked for US$ 30 extra a night per room for what they called a suite. In fact the so-called suite was a more spacious room -at best a junior suite, but definetely not a suite. We finally negotiated down the upgrade price at US$ 15 a night.

2. Room condition. My room was in a miserable condition: cigarette burns on the wooden wall panels of which pieces had been torn off, bathroom tiling broken, bathroom tap not working, water leaking on the floor. I immediately asked for those issues to be fixed. It took 5 days for them to change the tap and the leaking issue was never fixed -and neitherl was the wooden wall panel. In my friend's room, the toilet didn't flush properly. Despite reporting the issue on day 1, this was never fixed.

3. Facilities. There are 2 lifts in the hotel, one of which was out of order during more than half of our stay. We sometimes had to wait up to 5 minutes before being able to use the sole working lift. For some strange reason, they took off the carpet from the floor of the operating lift so that it looked like some kind of industrial hoist load. As mentioned earlier, maintenance was once more ineffective. Housekeeping was not much better: depending on days, a towel or a bottle was missing or parts of the room or the bathroom were ignored during the cleaning process. Besides, A/C was never switched on either at reception or in the breakfast room which were unpleasantly warm, so that I needed to ask the staff to turn on A/C each time I entered either areas.

4. Breakfast. The majority of the guests are Bangladeshi and the food is intended for them. Westerners only have toast, pancakes and eggs to eat. On the first day, I asked for a runny omelet an my friend asked for fried eggs sunny side up. My omelet was served overcooked and my friend's eggs were fried on both sides! On day 2, I cooked the eggs myself in front of the chef, so as to show him what should be done. He said that from then on, we would get our eggs cooked to our liking. On day 3, eggs were served as on day 1!!! We returned them and they ended up cooking them properly from then on.. after 3 days!!! Then, both of us only drink espresso -we hate Nescafé or American coffee. It took anything between 20 and 25 minutes for us to get our espressos at breakfast and we needed to ask several times for them.

In short, this hotel which was built 3 years ago looks as if it is 10+ years old. Staff are hopeless, most of them don't understand English though they pretend they do. Maintenance, housekeeping and the F&B staff are improperly trained and under perform. The manager himself recognised that the hotel faced a number of issues.

I would never stay at this supposedly 3 star hotel again, all the more it is quite expensive and guest satisfaction is not part of their vocabulary...

Yes, sure. I don’t think there’s gonna be any problem with that. Just make sure she’s got her body covered from the wrist down to the ankles with proper clothes. It’s a Muslim country. The head cover isn’t nessesary.
