Back to the hotel after about 18 months. The hotel is still a very good value. The huge size rooms will put many 5 stars to shame. Rooms are quite well appointed. Another recent good addition is the free Wi-fi. On the negative the quality of Breakfast has gone down a little and also the choice is less than before. The bathrooms now need a little makeover. Try avoid the rooms in west side as the view is blocked by a adjacent tall building.

i stayed at this hotel on a back packing trip to bangladesh. I was very impressed on how clean this hotel was and as always the staff and people of bangladesh are very friendly people in general. The hotel has very spacious rooms and the games room on top of the hotel is very good. They have utilised the space very well in the hotel and i would definately return here on my next visit.

I have stayed several times in the hotel during my several trip to Dhaka. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Near to the old town which is good for me. Also the Breakfast is quite good though limited in option. Room service is little slow.

The rooms are spacious but dull and have a worn old appearance. Nothing has been redecorated since it was built. In fact the lift opens on floors that have never been completed. Even with the 40% discount it is still expensive for what you get. The sheets are clean the bed is rock hard as the other reviewer mentions. Food is acceptable. Location busy but not to noisy. Internet slow. The management indifferent to small requests.

Wonderful buffet breakfast spread, particularly for Indian Guests, Good reason to skip lunch during business visit. Stayed there for 5 days during business conference and had a comfortable stay. Only disappointment is the seriously crowded area, where the hotel is situated but it's worth 80$ per day including daily transfers from the exhibition venue. Management should look for proper upkeep & maintenance of the rooms. Staffs are very co-operative and friendly.

If you are looking for somewhere to stay in central Dhaka but don't want to spend the prices charged by the Sheraton the Orchard Plaza is a good option. It has friendly staff, the rooms are clean, and there is good internet access in the rooms. There are good local shops nearby and plenty of taxis and CNGs parked near the hotel. It is not the fanciest hotel in the world, but I stayed here while attending a conference at the Sheraton and I felt that the Orchard Plaza was perfectly adequate and definitely better value for money.

We were on business trip and were visiting ITMA Dhaka and for some reason our booking in Hyatt regency was cancelled as the Government of Bangladesh had vacated many hotels for the South Asian games' athletes. Our Booking got cancelled few days before our visit and this was the only available hotel that yatra.com could offer us.
Anyway the hotel is right on the busy main road (VIP road I guess) not much of the hotel can seen from the road. There is hardly any reception or a lobby area. It is a basic hotel. Room was ok for 2 pax. Though the furniture and fixtures were fine but was slightly old fashioned.
Bed was comfortable. There was an old Box TV. They did have wifi but was on chargeable basis. Bathroom was clean and dry. Our room didn't have a view as it was at the back of the hotel and faced a wall. They have a restaurant on the top floor. That's the best place of the hotel in case you want to meet your guests etc. The food was ok. We had breakfast and ordered dinner a couple of times that we stayed and the food taste was fine, no complaints. And they served us as late as 12:30 am in the night. I found the food slightly sweet in taste (Indian dishes like Dal/ Lentils, even the bread/ Nan etc.)
However the general attitude of the staff in the hotel & the restaurant was slightly laid back. The attendants kept on delegating simple request (like a glass of water) to other restaurant attendants. The room service was slow. Since we were out right from early morning till late night for work during our 5 days stay, we didn't have to use as lot of the hotel's services else I think we may not have been very happy.
Overall only good for business travelers for short trips.

Rooms are good with all the basic facilities required in a standard hotel with steam, sauna, billiards & a composite gymnasium. The best part is that it serves good Indian food and free Wifi . Room are quite spacious as well.

Never go by the price mentioned on it website. Always ask for discount.

A good, reasonable, located in the heart of the city within easy commute of most major tourist attractions.

Signage is bad, not that well-marked and with the plethora of boards all around, you might just miss it. But the good thing is that the hotel offers you a free pick-up from the airport, which believe me, given the state of the airport, is something that you will be relieved to have since getting a taxi for a newcomer can be harrowing.

The hotel is well-maintained, reasonable compared to the mediocre hotels that you would get at the same price in Mumbai or Delhi, the staff is friendly, helpful and forthcoming in their service, always very cheerful.

The food is good, for Indians, a very large choice of Indian dishes plus the vegetarians would not go hungry, they have a large selection of North Indian vegetarian dishes. The restaurant on the 11th floor, called Sky Lounge is a bit grey and over-decked with kitschy decoration but if you can get over that, the food is good, You can select "a la carte" or opt for the buffet.

Ready availability of transport options is a plus. Outside the hotel, you will get a large number of taxis, rickshaws (called CNG in local lingo) and also the ubiquitious cycle rickshaws.

By and large, a good and convinient hotel, would give it about 7 on a scale of 10.
