This hotel has the comfort for sleeping well in the center of Dhaka., well situated with some interesting places around. Taking a lower accomodation is very touchy as the city is very noisy day and night.

Booked this hotel from goibibo and Stayed in Premier Single Room, which was not that good but on request they upgraded my room. Staffs are really good. Wi-fi is only free for suite not for others. You need to pay for it. One thing i liked most was its cleanness. overall its nice hotel if your budget is around $30-35.

I have felt a bit guilty that I never got around to reviewing the Victory after my 2014 and then again 2015 time there, a total of about eight weeks. I have lived a traveling life of backpacking hotels, and this place, with a hugely professional and friendly staff, and I mean professional, attentive, thoughtful, caring, welcoming, is a great step above at a stunning low price. I spent a month there in 2014 during a time of political upheaval when for a time I was the ONLY guest in the hotel. The entire staff was kept on and they treated me like a prince. I got to know a few of the desk people, all hired by Mr. Pasha with uncommon shrewdness. He picks classy people who really want to please, and he trains them well. So I went back this year to see Dhaka when politics were quieter, and they were. The welcome was real and it made a difference. The single and double rooms, immaculately clean, are rather similar, and not large, but the thing is the bathroom for the double (about $13 more) is bigger, better, bathtub, better lighting, etc., and i went for that this time and discovered I was happy to have made that choice. Room service killed themselves to be good to me, and yes they will make something up for you not on the menu if you ask them to. Eager to please. I have been to Dhaka several times, merely as a visitor and not for business, for I like places in the world that are teeming and not overrun with people just like me. I love the city. Some might not, but the intensity of life surpasses that of any city I know, and New York and Shanghai do not come close, nor does Calcutta nor Mumbai. Generally people who go to Dhaka for a "visit" stay in Gulshan or Banani, and I have stayed there. A bit more residential and certainly more upscale, and yet in Gulshan I felt "out" of things and was happy to choose the Victory on VIP Road. Really in the heart of the city, for good and bad, but good for me. The Victory will always be my home in Dhaka. I feel great respect for the staff and management, and for an owner who in troubled times does not cut corners. I live in Washington DC, and it is a nice night here. But I wish I was in Dhaka right now. Thanks to the good people at the Victory. John Auchard, Washington DC

Stayed for a few nights whilst watching the T20 World Cup.

Clean modern room with aircon, TV, and fridge. You have to pay for wifi and it was pretty flaky, but they were happy to refund for this.

Nice and friendly staff, happy to help and make sure your stay is ok.

Restaurant was pricey but the included breakfast buffet was good value.

Great place to stay at. Nice location, though a bit chaotic once you are out on the street, but that id the pulse of any south-east Asia city one would like to feel in a short while. Staff are honest, gave me back the full amount of Taka I left behind in my trousers' pocket in the laundry. Nice cuisine. Efficient and helpful staff.

A big ho hum here.

Good deal, well located, although if you are in Dhaka to sort visas out like we were I recommend the Gulsan area, we sent 2-3 hours a day in taxis getting there/back.

Rooms clean, we did have one big nasty cockroach in the bathroom, I suspect that is the norm in Dhaka, and once mentioned staff did spring to action.

Was a bit noisy too.

Lack Luster Internet and 4 bucks a day extra.

I stayed in this hotel 3 times, I had a free airport pick up.
Room is ok , there where some small cockroaches in the bathroom but as soon as you made a phone call to reception they came with spray.
Breakfast is ok, juice and chapati and spicy omelette and french toast are all nice and a good start of the day
There is a buffet dinner it cost Euro 6 , and thats just crazy...so i never went there.
I stayed in a single room , and thats OK even to stay for a week.
Tv channels are ok , and you have a small desk and AIRCO.
Many people say roomservice is slow, i orderd roomservice once and it was perfect, those boys make Euro 10 per month, for that money and such hard work I also would not run......
Reception staff is OK , there is 1 woman working here English is not very good , but they boys who work there are ok, and can help you with getting a CNG.
The hotel has internet(computer room) but it`s infected with virus, and so slow. and NOT free !!!!
Hotel is in a very nice and relax area of dhaka and near Agora supermarkt and market, photoshop, trainstation,KFC,Mosque etc.etc.
I would recommend this hotel to backpackers and family travellers.
You can pay your bill with credit card ...NO WORRIES
I will come back here......

I stayed for one week. My room was clean and comfortable. Just sometimes a bit noisy, because it was next to the house keeping. The bathroom also clean and big and enough hot water for a longer shower or 2 persons in a row.
Really good breakfast buffet included. In general very recommendable restaurant, especially the evening buffet. But the room service was very(!) slow (called them several times). Comparably professional service, helpful staff, but hard to get help with some special quesions/demands. More value for money than some hotels nearby. But the Wifi they installed during my stay was only available for an additional payment. For more a stay exceeding 3 nights there is free airport pick up but no airport transfer.
All in all really recommendable, but still space for improvement.

Came here after staying at another disasterous hotel and it was a blessed relief.

Lonely planet is not wrong, it is very clean and staff are friendly. good value- ask for discount. hotel buffet good. a couple of restaurants within reaching distance - sung garden chinese is excellent (dry tho) and walkable but watch out for life-threatening traffic.

Come out of hotel turn right and you'll see mohammeds tea stall - excellent chai 10 taka a cup. evenings only I think.

Only downside is, hotel is downtown but not walkable to many guide-recommended restaurants. so you will need transport if you want to do that.
