The Grand Mark is now one of my favorite hotels in the World. I decided to stay at this hotel in Dhaka to Celebrate my Birthday. I arrived at the hotel around 5 a.m after 23 hours of travel from the States. Check-in was fast and easy. My luggage had been misplaced by the airlines. When I told the front desk they immediately went to work connecting with the airline to retrieve my luggage. I Thank those at the front desk. A great crew. Thank you Waleed Kabir for your help and kindness. Thank you, Mr. Ripon for helping with all my needs and for giving me a courtesy ride to the airport. There were so many helpful staff members at the hotel and I want to thank them all. Thank you, Umme Halima, Nazmus Sakib, and Ismail Jewel for making my Birthday and my visit special. The Breakfast buffet food in the restaurant was delicious and plentiful. My room was clean and comfortable. I will stay at the Grand Mark when I return to Dhaka.…
I had accidentally left my brand new expensive phone behind in my room when checking out of the hotel, and only realized it many hours later. I called to inform the hotel, and went back to look for the phone. The security director, housekeeping manager and banquets manager all went out of their way to assist me, combing through the room and interviewing the housekeeping staff. The phone was not to be found, but even though I was ready to give up (Recovering lost/stolen items in Bangladesh is a miracle) they insisted on me letting them go to the police on my behalf to lodge a complaint. I left with no hope, but incredibly, many hours later the GM of the hotel contacted me to let me know they had found the device after all, and ensured it was returned to me within the night. I am so very grateful for the unexpected levels of service and honesty!…
I often travel to Dhaka for business meetings. I usually look for hotels near my meeting area and Golden Tulip- The Grandmark Dhaka perfectly fits the bill. It is right adjacent to diplomat area in Banani, Dhaka. I stayed in Superior Kings room. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable including seating area. Only feedback is it dint have carpet flooring. It offers a rooftop swimming pool which saves lot of space for the hotel. It also offers live barbecue in the same area at reasonable price and variety of items. The hotel also has its own Spa, Golden Siam Spa, which offers different massage just to unwind yourself from your hectic busy day. It has good breakfast options and also has a coffee shop next to the reception for meeting and leisure. Overall good hotel.
This hotel rates itself a 4* and charges prices accordingly. That is quite inaccurate. It is a three star and at best an 'Indianized' 4 star. What that means is that Indians might accept this as a 4 star but by international standards it is not. Like all other hotels of this category and above in Dhaka, the rate here is way too high for an impoverished country like Bangladesh and a condemned city like Dhaka. AS you enter, the lobby is very unimpressive and quite dark almost as if the owners are trying to save on electricity. Electricity is a problem any way since it breaks down frequently leaving the elevators unusable. I was upgraded to an Executive room which was quite spacious and a nice bathroom with a shower stall which is my preference. However, it was facing the side into the balcony of the adjoining building and also it was not possible to keep the drapes open. Hence it was dark all day long. The breakfast was disgusting. All of the hot items were dinner items, most likely leftovers from the dinner buffet the night before and consisted of an array of killed / dead animals in various forms. Bangladesh is a land of butchers and carnivores who thrive on devouring killed / dead animals all day long. The energy in the restaurant was just disgusting. Fresh fruits were tasteless and there was no fresh juice. The only saving grace was the good home made bread and fresh dosas. The only place to eat in Dhaka is Jatra Biroti and fortunately it is walking distance from the Hotel. The spa was pathetic too. It consists of just two treatment rooms with no waiting area, or steam / sauna. I had a 120 min massage which ended 15 mins early. That may hav ebeen good becaus ethe therapist was clueless about any massage techniques. Plus she was using Johnsons Baby Oil for the aromatherapy massage. It was terrible. The area around the HOtel is relatively upscale and pleasant compared to the rest of Dhaka. But remember you are in a Muslim country and you will be bombarde with prayer calls all day and night from the neighborhood mosques. However, I would not stay here again.…
Good place to stay is midst of commercial Banani. The rooms and sleep quality is good with excellent service. Gym is well equipped although one of the tread mill was not working. Many showrooms and good restaurant around this hotel. In house restaurant has a elaborate menu. The taste is average but the food prices are exorbitant.
The staff make the place wonderful and plesant the rooms are undisputeable superb and price is very reasonble. Whenever im in dhaka for work.. it is my home away frm home there no 2 ways bout it.. once again thank guys to make my visit everytime recharged and superb
The Golden Tulip has everything you need. it is conveniently located in Banani, close to restaurants, cafés, shops and within minutes from major embassies and international missions' offices. Big new rooms, a spectacular bathroom and a good buffet round it all up. of course there are more expensive choices, but will will likely get the same kind of room for double the prices. Service is superb and everybody is overly-eager to take care of your needs during your stay. During the day it gets a bit noisy... but this is Dhaka.
It was my 2nd business visit in dhaka , i stayed in Golden Tulip Banani first time. The beautiful hotel I just share my experience; last night I was suffering bad health ; midnight I informed reception; the senior manager rushed to me with primary medicine but not recovered; then he shifted me to hospital, it was real time help and fast decision by that senior reception manager, Now everything better. Discharged from hospital. I really appreciate Golden tulip hotel and both the manager Mr Shishir and the person who stood with me in the hospital till discharge. Even they did hold car till discharge without any charges . Front desk manager mr Shariful islam found that i am sick he sent a car to drop me to airport. The way they all managed things was really good. Humanity is there. appreciate Golden Tulip hotel , road 7 banani dhaka . Best regards to everyone at front desk and entry gate.…
