The Renaissance Dhaka Gulshan Hotel was a fantastic choice as a Bonvoy Platinum Elite although with some hiccups. Amongst all the positive aspects, I had a great rate that included a 10 AM early check-in and two pieces of laundry daily plus 20% restaurant and spa discounts. The hotel looks new, with a modern décor, and is in the posh area of Gulshan with more banks than restaurants nearby. It felt very safe; they have security staff checking cars and people as they enter. My room was ready when I arrived at 7:30 AM (though not the room I was expecting; read more below.) Room had a comfortable bed and the usual amenities to be expected of Renaissance hotels, including robes/slippers, coffee pot with coffee/tea, daily bottles of water, mini-fridge with plenty of space, and even free daily shoe shine. I also got a welcome fruit plate with some apples, bananas, and grapes, which was a nice touch! Breakfast and lunch buffets were plentiful, varied, and delicious with western and local/Asian options 😋 The Club Lounge offers food options only during 6-8 PM, with one soup option, two different types of meat, sandwiches (one night they had sushi), desserts, and more. Pool/gym/spa looked nice but did not use. The staff were wonderful and amongst the nicest I've encountered anywhere in the world. On to the hiccups...starting with a separate coffee pod machine in the room but with no coffee pods; when I called to inquire they told me they ran out of coffee pods and did not know when they would get them. The Club Lounge strangely does not offer any food outside of the 6-8 PM hours, only beverages outside of these hours, which means no breakfast options with the excuse given that they do not have enough room to place breakfast items. But the biggest hiccup of them all was that I had received a confirmation email five days before my arrival to the hotel that my Platinum Elite Nightly Upgrade Award request was confirmed and my selected upgraded room awaited, which was a 1-bedroom suite, but to my surprise, upon check-in I was told I had been upgraded to a deluxe room and upon my explaining that I had already received a confirmed upgrade to the 1-bedroom suite I was told it was no longer available 😡 I proceeded to my deluxe room unhappy but later in the day the manager got involved and offered an upgrade to a junior suite, which was the only other option available so I took it. In any case, I should have been offered the junior suite from the start as the Bonvoy Enhanced Room Upgrade benefit states "Upgrade to the best available Room, subject to availability, for the entire Length of Stay. For Platinum Elite members and above, Select Suites available." All in all, it was a great 4.5 stay so rounding up to 5.

I stayed at this hotel for two nights, as a solo tourist. I am a Marriott Bonvoy status member, so I received benefits during my stay.
The hotel is located in one of Dhaka's nicest neighborhoods, Gulshan, a relative oasis in an otherwise chaotic, noisy, and overcrowded city. Inside out, the property exudes an understated elegance and sophistication. It was nicer than I originally thought it would be. Although, some of the finishes and colors used throughout the hotel appear dated, but, definitely not wore.
Staff service was excellent, period. Ditto for the service provided by the two gentlemen in the Club Lounge (Lounge). Although breakfast was served in the main restaurant, afternoon/evening lite bites/drinks were offered in the Lounge. Food in the Lounge was tasty. The breakfast buffet was plentiful in the main restaurant, and it catered to various tastes. I also visited the rooftop bar one night, with great views of the city.
The room I was assigned represented an upgrade to a 1-bedroom suite. It was large, with a nice city view. It also was nicely designed, clean, and well-appointed. The shower had great water pressure, and the water was hot. The bed and linens were great, and the room attendants were so accommodating to my requests. The room was generally quiet; however, the AC omitted a nuisance humming noise both nights. This noise lowered my overall TA rating.
The hotel maintains a well-equiped gym, so I was able to keep up with my fitness regimen. I enjoyed sharing workout routines with the fitness attendant on my last morning. The gym is located on the 19th floor, with great views of the city. The outdoor pool is also located here, but, there is a lot of noise from the city below.

I had the pleasure of enjoying the weekend buffet brunch at Renaissance Dhaka Gulshan Hotel, Bahar, today, October 12th, with my office colleagues. The experience was truly enticing, with a wide variety of dishes that catered to all our tastes. The brunch is priced at BDT 5799 net, and we took advantage of the fantastic promotion of buy one get two free with selected bank cards, which made it a great value for our group.
The selection of international cuisines was impressive, and we particularly loved the fresh seafood station and the live cooking options. The dessert spread was a definite highlight as well. The upscale yet relaxed ambiance created the perfect setting for a leisurely weekend meal.
Service was attentive. I highly recommend making a reservation if you plan to visit, as this brunch is quite popular. While the price is on the higher side, the quality and variety of food justify it, especially with the ongoing promotions. Don't miss the opportunity to experience this delightful brunch—it's a fantastic way to spend a weekend with friends or colleagues!

The staff make this hotel a great place to stay. They are very attentive and make it a point to ensure guests are comfortable. Went for the buffet at Bahar and it was spectacular with a lot of choices for all. Ambience was very nice with warm lights and decoration was unique which made very nice photos. The service was also very good, with people waiting to clean your table everytime you finish your food.

I recently had a long stay at the Renaissance Hotel and it was an outstanding experience. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore local attractions. The staff were incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to ensure I had everything I needed. I want to thank the lobby team including Simaran, Mazzia, GBC Akram, Moon, Bheeman, and Nazmul.
My room was spacious and impeccably clean with modern amenities. All thanks to the housekeeping team.
Breakfast was a highlight, with a wide variety of delicious options. I would like to thank the breakfast team including Ayesha, Jannat, Mohana, Pronoy, and Anawar.
The lounge has a sophisticated and elegant ambience. The tasteful background music creates a relaxing environment perfect for unwinding after a long day. The staff were attentive, friendly, and highly professional.
Food and Drinks: The lounge offers an impressive selection of drinks and food. While my experience was overwhelmingly positive, one small area for improvement could be the inclusion of more different food options on the food menu.
I highly recommend the Renaissance Hotel to anyone visiting the area!

we serve Premium Beer, wine and spirits t our executive lounge . The range varies with whats on offer , actually every week depending on the promotions we have with our Partner vendors and Cuisine guide.
"Avoid Rush Hours such as 12pm in the afternoon & 6pm in the evening traffic around Gulshan. If you are going to try out the Bahar Buffet, Chef Nassim can help alot!!"
"The only thing I would recommend is not to walk in the streets alone after 10-11pm. However, to see the real experience, walking in the city is the best."
